I am sure there are other used dealers with integrity, but how many back up their sales with a years free oil changes?? In my opinion Pool Auto prove their integrity to their customers. I was new to Rochester this year & found Pool by chance via internet used auto eval sites that listed a number of Pool's cars as top value for the money. I was looking for Honda or Toyota wagons in the 3-7K range, and found a Pontiac Vibe (the vibe is actually a Toyota Matrix in a pontiac body) and got it almost 1k under blue book value from Pool. Don't expect to bargain much as their prices are already super low, and they are firm on this because they know what they are selling you inside & out. Because they also run a service center you can put the car up and look under or inside as part of the process. Their mechanics have already saved me hundreds by showing & explaining how to care for my car over the last few months during my year of free oil changes. If you don't want a new car nor want to deal with a dealer, this is the place to go. You get a great discount for those cars with just a bit more milage than a dealer would sell, they work with Dealers so they can get the best offers that are either a bit too old or more milage than a dealer wants to deal with. My 2007 Vibe was in excellent shape for its miles & age, and is providing me reliability, as every week I put hundreds of miles on it for my commute. I can't say enough good things about this family run auto service & sales company.

We recently bought our third car from Basil Resale. From our first to our third car we were unsure of exactly what we were looking for. We went in to talk with them about what exactly our needs were. They spent so much time with us to help us decide what was best for us. The first two cars were for our children and safety was our main concern. They helped us pick out 2 great safe cars. Never did they try to sell us something that we did not need or want. When we walked through the lot we were never harassed by high pressured sales people. They came out and asked us if they can help, then gave us room to look on our own.
Everyone from the sales personnel to the finance personnel was professional. They make the whole process very easy and stress free. We will continue to go through Basil Resale in the future and highly recommend them to our friends and family. It is refreshing to do business with such a reputable and professional company. I worked with Mike Caruana. Upon delivery of my vehicle with is only 2 years old it needed 4 new tires immediately. When I called them they said because of my credit situation they couldn't put new tires on it because it would increase the price. My seatbelt is twisted my brakes are less than half. I would expect more out of a car with a sticker price of over 18k.

And when i say cheap, i mean terrible pieces of garbage! The cars are nothing but piles of junk. I bought my car and two weeks after i purchased it i started to have problems with the transmission. Needed to get a brand new transmission in it! Now a year later the car is having transmission problems AGAIN when it shouldnt be! The dont fix anything the way it needs to be fixed and give lame excuses for why things go at a snails pace. Took almost 2 months for my registration to come in the mail. Oh, and credit acceptance? Garbage! They do not work with you on ANYTHING! my credit is even worse now because of buying this hunk of scrap metal.

In our search for a good used car for my son we came across this absolute loser.... Very shady. Would not answer our questions. When we started to ask questions he dismissed us and told us to get off his lot. He said we were not buyers and that we were there to "bust his chops" when I pointed out that the information he was giving me did not match the information on Carfax this guy got very defensive. It became very clear that this guy was lying to us. He did not like the fact that they we were asking questions. That struck me as very odd. I mean seriously, who buys a car without asking questions? After looking closely at this guys cars I realized that they were nothing but junk. I have never come across such a shady character like this in my life! This guy just screamed "Hi I'm a crook and I'm going to lie to you just to get your money"
He told me that he did not think that I was a buyer, after the 5 minutes we were on the "lot". I didn't have the heart to tell him that I had several thousand dollars in cash in my wallet LOL! Mistake buddy huge huge huge mistake! Thank God we got off that "lot" and bought a car down the road in Hamburg, which was better and from a better dealership.

Submitted an application for credit online and was contacted by Martina just after Christmas 2012. Very nice on the initial consult. Once all the information was collected I was on my way. Over the next few days worked on getting a car that would work with the loan agreement. At this point we had been handed off to Lou since Martina was very busy. We were shown a nice 2010 Hyundai Elantra that was very nice with the exception of a few costmetic dings inside the car. We were shown a good record of service and the vehicle had only 5000 miles on it so we decided to buy it and were told that there was a warranty in effect on the car until September or 36000 miles, which ever came first.
About 3 months after purchasing the car I noticed flakes of paint comming off the car, so I contacted the dealership and was told that I would have to take it to a Hyundai dealer. Fine enough with me since it was still under warranty. Well apparently the car had been painted so the representation that it was still under warranty was false. The service guy was able to tell it had been painted from about 15 feet away so why couldn't the dealer. He even pointed out the tape line and sure enough under the mirror there was making tape. He said that the prep job was really poor and even pointed out dirt stuck under the paint.I figured the dealer didn't want to warranty the work and was making things up so I took it to 2 other shops in the area which all said the same thing. So now I'm stuck with a nice car that needs a paint job to 1 whole side of the car which will cost me around 1600 from the dealer, which was "warrantied". Buyer Beware. Stay Away.
