Being new to the area, I needed to decide where I would have my RAV serviced. I first spoke with Jacob to make the initial appointment and felt very confident and comfortable with my decision. Unfortunately, I was running late from a previous appointment when the time came and I attempted to make a change.. That part was difficult as they were very busy, but eventually, they were able to fit me in the next morning. Jacob greeted me professionally and proficiently when I walked through the door. He walked me through the process and made sure I was comfortable while I waited. When the work was completed, every item I mentioned was attended to and he went the extra distance to make sure that I was familiar with the onboard system after listening to all my frustrations. I was very impressed and unexpectedly comfortable. Jacob made me feel as though I had been going there for years. He instilled a sense of trust in me by listening and following through with what he said he would do. Richard also greeted me when I first arrived and provided me with information that he researched to address questions I had after speaking with me the day before. The greeting was very warm, friendly, and informative.

Service department is something to be desired...Hum... Not quite sure how this works. Something has been drawing the battery from the time I purchased the truck in 2017 from Charles Toyota. Went through several batteries, and several deployments. Now that the truck is out of warranty, they finally found the frayed wire from the starter that they installed at my experience of over 400 bucks. Maybe the starter will work???? Maybe they finally found out what is drawing the battery, I hope so. Truck has less than 12000 miles on it because I am afraid of being stuck somewhere with a dead battery. Time to trade it in while it is able to start.

I noticed since Curry Toyota was bought by Crabtree Toyota that the service and sales people are friendlier they have loaner cars and the lot has cars not like before it looked like it was closed down! I had a brief interaction with Steve Papadakos while I was waiting for my car in service and he was friendly and outgoing. So when my lease is up I will go and see Steve. I also recommend Crabtree Toyota for all your car needs.

I had an issue with a 2022 4Runner with 31K Miles that I just purchased ( Still under Warranty) Brought it to Dowling and had it looked at. My previous vehicle was a 2007 Rav4 AWD. The Rav4 is Automatic AWD, or you can press a button to engage it from a stop, the 4Runner is quite different with a sequence that you must go through (some what confusing) to engage 4Lo/4Hi/2Hi/DAC/ATRAC. To make a long story short I was trying out the different systems and I got stuck in 4Lo and I could not get it out? Drove it in Reverse, than Forward (In 2Hi) but it would not disengage? So I called Dowling's Service Department while in the car for help and I get this guy Pat to ask for some guidance, and what do I get? A really nasty person talking down to me, telling me that I'm looking for trouble and that he was not going to help me!!! All I have to say is, this guy needs a Vacation! Completely disrespectful, Arrogant, full of himself (He said I have 37 Years of experience) BIG DEAL DUMMY! When you talk down to people, and not offer help you should be FIRED! Last time I'll go to this dealership! YOU SUCK! This is directed at Pat! Matt, and Chris where very good!

Date of dispute = Nov 3, 2023. We took my vehicle to Girard Toyota in New London for a routine oil change. The service department also performed a multipoint inspection. The service department advised me that the front brakes were in the yellow zone. This would indicate the brake pads were measured by the technician at 5 mm. This was odd to me and I questioned the customer service representative on my way out. It caused concern because the front and rear brakes and rotors were replaced 3,000 miles prior at another (reputable) shop. Without being sure if Girard was pulling a scam or if the other shop was, we took it back to the shop who performed the brakes. The vehicle was put on the lift, front tires were removed, and they visually had us inspect and photograph the brakes on their premises - the brake pads are essentially brand new, 10-12 mm thickness. This resulted in a call back to Girard service department. Prior to telling them we had just been to the service station that had performed the brake and rotor replacement, we were passed on to a manager who confirmed that a technician did indeed measure the brake pads and performed this multi-point inspection and indicated the front brake pads were 5 mm and the rear pads were 7 mm. This was not the first time Girard botched our multi point inspection. In fact, with our other vehicle, they failed to check and adjust tire pressure even though it was on the outgoing report. We did confirm that if a service is listed on the outgoing report, that indicates it was definitely performed. The manager was apologetic and indicated there would be follow up with the technician and then again with us - we never heard back. They lie to unsuspecting customers. Based on these interactions, we believe Girard service department is running a dishonest operation and trying to scam those who do not know better. I submitted a complaint on BBB website and the business response: We have met with our staff and have implemented additional quality control procedures to ensure information is accurately being recorded and communicated. Girard Toyota apologizes for any inconvenience.

Before I write a review on how long I’ve been trying to get my car situated and fixed properly as that what insurance is for. I’d like to talk to someone to make sure this is not what really goes on over there.

I recently had my car repaired here. I dropped my car off and was told it would be ready in 12 days for pick up. On the estimated date I had not received a single update the whole time my car was in the shop, so I called and was told it should be ready the following monday (3 days later). I received no phone call monday, so I called them around 3pm, to be told it would be ready Wednesday. I spoke to the secretary and asked for her to call me and leave a voicemail on Wednesday with an update if the car was ready or not since I work night and would likely be sleeping, she agreed. I received no phone call, and when I called at 3pm again, she yelled at me, saying she didn't get an update until I called and she had to ASK while I was on the phone with her. She then proceeded to yell at me, saying the car won't be ready until Friday, and that I can NOT call her, that she would call me. Guess what? Friday came, no call. Called Monday, at open, didn't get a return call till 2pm saying the car was ready. 12 days, was now 21. When I picked my car up, there was a box of car parts on my passenger seat, my driver door speakers. They refused to put them back in saying they were broken when dropped off, which they were not. They were left for the manager to contact me, who still has not. The chrome pieces on my door were never put back, and part of my side view mirror was never assembled so wires are hanging out of it. I have reached out to the manager 3 times. No response STILL. Reached out to my insurance, and am taking my car to a different dealer because this was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with a collision center. They are truly unprofessional, unreliable, and should not be trusted with the repairs of anyone's car.

Iwanted to wait until my truck was fixed before writting this review. This dealerships Service Manager was extremly mean and unprofessional. The only person who was understanding was a young man by the name of Evan. Service manager was so degrading I called Toyota Corp. at which time I was directed to Toyota of Colchester who were so amazing and kind. My Tacoma had a recall for a new frame and Service Manager Chris D. in Middletown refused to take care of me. I have had 3 Toyotas and have never had to deal with such a mean condescending man. Never would I recommendthis dealership. The only reason for 1 star is because of the kindness shown by Evan.

Andy, the service manager was extremely helpful, and he even return the voicemail himself that we left at the dealer’s voice mail box to book the service appointment. Matthew the service advisor kept in touch with us the two days the car was in service. He was friendly and very professional from beginning to end. Terrance the technician left the car driving as new. Thank you to all of you for a great service!

Worst body shop I've been to. They'd have done a better job at Macao. After Joe telling me he'd work the deductible in for me, they call me once it's finished to tell me that it's all set but I have to pay the deductible. I figured no big deal so I went down to pay and pick up my truck. Upon examining my truck, they didn't prep the truck correctly and I had a flaw over a foot long that nobody even checked over or looked at before they tried giving it back to me. While letting joe know that i was upset over the issue, he displayed his poor customer service skills by walking away from me mid conversation and going into the back. Grated i wasnt yelling or being a dick, just talking. After a weekend of having my truck still and them racing through it again, there's still a section that they never fixed. I paid to get it out of there out of their hands. First off, how do you give a car away with a huge imperfection, then bang through it and still have it look like crap? Very unreliable and rushed here.
