I took my 2017 Honda Pilot (45k miles) to the Indy Honda - 0712

I took my 2017 Honda Pilot (45k miles) to the Indy Honda Service Center on March 17. (I'm writing this on May 6 - over 7 weeks later). They initially replaced a fuel pump that didn't solve the issue. They told me they had 3 certified Honda techs with over 60 years experience that couldn't figure out the issue so they called in a field tech to look at it. He suggested replacing the high pressure fuel pump. Apparently that part is not available and they have placed me on the critical back order list but can offer no ETA of when this part will arrive. We are literal days outside of our 5 year powertrain (but only have 45k miles) so we are fighting to get the warranty extended. The main issue at this point is that the dealership has refused to provide a loaner. I was able to talk them into a loaner (which was actually a test drive) for 1 weekend but that was it. My husband left a message for the Service Manager and never received a return call. I emailed the GM, David Piercefield, and he never bothered responding either. I've been without a car for over 7 weeks with no end in sight and while I understand they can't produce a part that doesn't exist, they certainly could offer a loaner for the inconvenience. I spoke with Ed Martin Honda and they told me they would offer a loaner in this situation so my advice to anyone reading this - avoid Indy Honda and take your business to Ed Martin.

I was attending my biennial workshop in Valparaiso, and on a free day excursion my brake pads suddenly became an issue. I have always seen Team Honda on my drive in to Valpo and wanted to stop by to have my annual check up and other details, to take advantage of my time in the area. Full disclosure: I've always been hesitant and outright resistant about car help (original dealerships, Midas, et. al.) simply because while my 2003 Element is in pretty good condition even at 106K miles, but there *always* seems to be problems that are discovered and which end up costing me lots of money. I had no choice on Thursday July 6, 2023. Tyler took my call, and asked me to get the car in as soon as possible so an estimate could be done. On my arrival around 11:45 a.m., I explained how it was my penultimate day in the area, I had to return to Chicago the next day (Friday morning) and still had to take others to O'Hare and Midway airports! Time was of the essence. I got a text message report a few hours later showing what had to be done, which parts had to be obtained. Tyler was exceptionally professional, courteous, and forthright about costs as the situation became known. With my ok of the job, he went OUT OF HIS WAY to fulfill the job. He said it could be ready by Friday noon, but by Thursday evening he and his team obtained the needed parts and - because I happened to catch the service center as it was caught up with work - was able to finish it by 7 p.m., ready for pick-up the next morning as early as opening time! Underpromised: over-delivered!!! I was so relieved and absolutely delighted with the service done by Team Honda Service Center! Being away from home and having a mechanical matter and time constraints could have really been stressful. But Tyler and Team Honda really came through. PLEASE KNOW OF MY HIGHEST POSSIBLE PRAISE AND THANKS FOR TYLER BROWN AND HIS TEAM! They were absolutely great, and justify my trust in Honda to begin with. I hope Tyler and his team get the proper recognition and appreciation for upholding the Honda product and service reputation we not only expect, but rely upon!

It was a pleasant experience dealing with our salesman, Derek Moore, and to have the Sales Manager, Nick Bosak, introduce himself to us. There will always be some tense moments as the wheeling and dealing moves forward and especially coming to acceptable trade-in value and price of vehicle in closing. Having just purchased our new 2024 KIA Sportage PHEV in Vista Blue exterior and Black leather-like interior is gorgeous to us. Even a staff member from the Service Department came to us and introduced themselves and helped clarify the new vehicles oil change frequency. If zero is terrible to 10 extremely satisfied. I would give a rating of 10+ to Bosak KIA dealership located in Burns Harbor, Indiana. One thing to know about the KIA warranty it is not a full five-year / 60,000 mile warranty that was expected. It is 3-year / 36,000 miles warranty and modifies upto more limited warranty coverage of 5-year / 60,000 miles. Plus, there is more warranty coverage for roadside assistance, powertrain and PHEV components as well. So far we love the vehicle and does exactly what our salesman explained, but must say there is more to learning a PHEV vehicle. If you plan on buying a PHEV or All Electric make sure you get a 220 volt charger. The charger that comes with the vehicle is dedicated to 110 Volt and to fully charge the battery from 1-mile to 34-miles (battery size is 13.8 Kwh) took 22-hours. If used a 220 Volt charger takes 2 to 3-hours. My wife and I highly recommend this dealership and it's staff.

On February 8th, 2024, the battery on our 2018 Honda Pilot died. At least the car was in our garage. It was the original battery that was in the car when we bought it new at the end of July 2018. When I lifted the hood, I could just see a small portion of the battery. I can see the shocked look on your face! I called your service department and immediately Conner answered. I presented my quandary. He said, “ no problem, I can talk you through removing the stuff covering up the battery”. It is at this point I giggled because he doesn’t know me and cars! He told to do this and that. He knew what the was talking about, then told me to look some other place. He giggled, I laughed. At this point, I think he knew he had a fool at the other end of the line. What a great employee you have, patient AND smart. Finally, he gave me his cell number and had me FaceTime him. We both realized that we would be approaching the supper hour soon, if not doing something different. I’m almost done. That was the “magic bullet”. He could now see under the hood as I could. Through Conner’s EXCELLENT guidance, patience and knowledge, I could finally see that $;&$ illusive battery. Your service department is the best we have ever encountered, and Conner is a big reason why!! We are even to pay our bill! Well, that’s a lie. Your folks are busy all the time answering phones, setting up appointments and sometimes going the extra mile FaceTiming “car idiots”. Connor saved me having to call Roadside or AAA. You should be very proud to have Connor in your organization. Dave Custis
