I will NEVER buy from FW Nissan again and I do NOT - jtricker71
I will NEVER buy from FW Nissan again and I do NOT recommend them. We bought a 2020 Mazda CX-5 on Oct. 16th. During the test drive we noticed a very subtle audible chirp when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear, the salesman who was riding along (self-admitted not knowing much about cars) said that it was probably one of the safety features. When talking to him two days later I notified him that it did it all the way home and when my wife drove to work the next day, his reply was to give it a week or two and if it was still doing it he would schedule a service call. We waited 2 days and scheduled it ourselves. We took the car to FW Nissan on our scheduled date of Nov 1st, it took them 2 days to look at it and said that they could hear the chirp but was unable to diagnose it and suggested that we take it to a Mazda dealership. We took it to Mazda on Nov 6th and then had it diagnosed that day as a bad torque converter and could have it fixed inside of 3 days. I think FW Nissan was counting on Mazda paying for it (the vehicle had just over 60k miles on a 60k mile powertrain warranty) or the extended warranty we purchased it would cover it. Turns out Mazda wouldn't cover it because we didn't purchase the vehicle there and the extended warranty wouldn't cover it because it was a pre-existing issue when we bought the vehicle. FW Nissan said that they would cover the repairs (as well as they should) but I guess they didn't want to pay dealership costs and said that since they were paying for it they would take it to their preferred place which was Jess Lewis Transmission, I relayed my displeasure of not having it done at an actual Mazda dealership but it fell on deaf ears. It took another week and a half to figure out whether the extended warranty was going to pay for it and a lot of finger pointing as to who was causing this delay. On Nov 15th we were told that it was a 2 week wait to get it in at Lewis Transmission and another week to get the repair done (Mazda could have had this done in 3 days). Contacted FW Nissan on Dec 4th (2 days shy of 3 weeks) and was told that it would be ready today, Dec 8th. Contacted FW Nissan today and was told that the wrong part was sent (I really don't know what the real reason was because I got conflicting reasons) and it now won't be ready until mid-week next week. Was advised that I could call Lewis Transmission to verify this, when talking to them they would give me zero information on my OWN vehicle and to go through FW Nissan for information. This whole ordeal has been a complete mess with no information being given unless I request it, not being notified of delays and ALL of this could have been done if they would have just let the Mazda dealership (that they told me to take it to) to fix the issue and could have had it back on Nov 8th or 9th. As of today, Dec 8th, we bought the car 53 days ago and it has been in for 33 days on a <3 day fix.
TL/DR:
Oct 16th - Bought vehicle
Nov 1st-2nd - vehicle at FW Nissan, they were unable to diagnose exact issue
Nov 6th-Nov 15th - vehicle at Mazda while FW Nissan drug their feet in returning calls to Mazda and the extended warranty company, could have been finished in about 3 days.
Nov 15th-Present - at Lewis Transmission, told it would be done by Dec 6th, told on Dec 4th it would be done Dec 8th, told on Dec 8th it would be done mid-week next week.
Stay tuned... will update...
