I purchased a brand-new car from Suntrup Buick GMC on May 6 2025, and 2 weeks later the engine light comes on. The same engine-light issue has persisted for three months. I may have driven my car for two weeks out of the three months. I’ve brought it in for service three times due to the recurring problem. No follow up on what the issue is other than the censure. The dealership claims they called me on July 9, but I never received any messages. I had been trying to work directly with the GM to get this matter resolved, but keeps getting the run around. Although the service desk has called me before, they gave me some phone number that wasn't mine, communication has been inconsistent. Today, I spoke with Dave Brewer in the Service Department. He was unhelpful, argumentative, and showed no compassion. When I explained to him that I didn't want the vehicle back, without any resolution to my concerns, he insisted I call GM and demanded the return of the loaner car. I reiterated that I had been attempting to follow up without any response. I asked if he could contact GM on my behalf, but he refused, claiming GM is responsible because they make the vehicle. When I pointed out that I purchased the vehicle from the dealership, he said... my vehicle was ready and if I didn't return the loaner today or tomorrow he threatened to file a stolen car report---then abruptly hung up. The customer service has been absolutely unacceptable. Roz M

My experience was great. However the cam and lifters went out after a month. Luckily the dealership gave me a 6th month warranty. This a reflection of chevrolet as a whole and not the dealership. Chevrolet continues to put out flawed vehicles even though they know about the flaw. The warranty w Should be extended for this reason.

As always, the customer service at Deien was top notch. From our first contact, with Nikki, to the time we drove off the lot they went out of their way to make sure our time was valued. This is the type of service that keeps us coming back to this hometown dealership (7 vehicles to date), it might not be the biggest in the area but they make you feel like you are the most important thing to them while you are there. Personally, I'll take this type of treatment over a vast selection anytime...not to mention they can usually beat any competitors pricing and they give a lifetime power-train warranty on all new, and some used, vehicles.

We bought a car for my son after he totaled his SUV. I was given 2 prices. One price with brakes and one price with brakes and tires. I was told they would not sell it without new brakes. We bought the car with brakes and tires so we knew he was safe after just having a horrible wreck. Fast forward a year and a half later and about 5,000 miles. I had to pay to have brakes put on the car. I will never buy another car there or have any car serviced there!

If you are looking for a small town dealership, you need look no further. Smoky Jennings Chevrolet in Palmyra, Illinois has the best customer service, They care about you as an individual. My sales person was John Shumaker. He sold me a 2016 Mustang convertible over the phone. He gave me a fair price for my trade in, We made a deal and I drove there from Kansas City, Missouri, approximately 300 miles to find the Mustang to be like new. Ever person I dealt with at the dealership was so friendly, courteous, professional, honest, and respectful. A very pleasant experience.. I highly recommend this dealership.

Shallen disabled couple a vehicle with 10-year-old rotten tires and a failing back up camera and missing rear safety headrest and then telling you pretty much is your problem and days of arguing to get it corrected they are awful people!
