The staff at University is awesome. I had a vehicle that was going back under lemon law. Looked around at several local dealerships in my area. University had the only ones I was interested in. Told the staff up front that it would be an exchange. They were unfamiliar with the process but willing to learn to help me. The staff helped make a stressful situation as smooth as possible when they absolutely did not have to. In my opinion, they went above and beyond throughout the process. I have dealt with a few Chrysler dealerships and this is the best. I will bring my Charger here for service (even though it's an hour away). I would recommend to everyone to purchase here! My fiancé and I had been looking to buy a SUV, and had our mind set on a Durango. We didn't get the Durango, but our salesman, Donald Bentley, introduced us to the 2017 Dodge Journey. At first the Journey was out of the question( for me anyway). But Donald refused the let us leave unsatisfied. Long story short we bought the Journey, and Donald made it so easy!! We've had our SUV for about 3 weeks now and we're in LOVE! I highly recommend Athens Dodge, not only Donald but the whole staff was AWESOME! We will be purchasing our future cars from them.

Bought a Pre-owned Nissan Leaf from Ed Voyles - worked with Deni Hall.
1. The price was very competitive among dealer listings and Deni was pleasant to work with through-out - answering all questions I had fully, but not randomly throwing unsolicited info with that (which several car salespeople tend to do)
2. All discussions and paperwork happened within the first visit, within a span of 2-3 hours, and without any "car dealer gimmicks" kind of negotiations. I test-drove, signed a paper asking for a price, Deni made that happen, and I signed the rest of the paperwork.
3. I had to make a second visit only to pick up the car - the car was very well washed and clean, and plates arrived a couple weeks later without any follow ups.
Overall a very smooth experience - One can never be sure whether it saved me money over other deals, but it certainly saved me a lot of time, effort and stress - leaving me happy with the buying experience.

Mar 3 2017 sales man Cornelius Robinson was excellent. Unfortunately did not purchase vehicle could not reach agreement on trade in value with management and was the way too long. Would recommend Cornelius though. He apologized about the extremely long wait and even called to make sure we made it back to Columbus safely

My review is what just happened to me and it goes back several month's! I called to see if a vehicle that was coming out was available for order yet? I was told that it wasn't and that I would be notified when it was. I was notified by my sales person Daniel that I was getting the first one that they were receiving. I was instructed to come to the dealership and we would build the car online exactly like I wanted. I went to the dealership as requested by my salesperson Daniel who by the way came to work on his off day. we sat down at his desk and we put together my car as I wanted. he went and showed it to the Manager I assume. He came back and was as shocked as I was at what he was told! They informed him that the vehicle that I was first in line to purchase was going to be built exactly the way I designed it but when it got to the dealership there would have to be a bidding Process and the car would be sold to the highest bidder! Are you kidding Me? The same thing Fiat who owns Chrysler said that would not Happen with this vehicle! If I could give zero stars I would! Preston Smith
Bait and Switch Scam - RUiii
I have been a loyal customer of Dodge for the last 20 years, bought my first New Ram in 1996 and have owned nothing but Dodge since then. I found a 2016 Ram at this dealership and struck a deal. The dealer promised delivery on June 21, I was contacted by the dealership on June 22 asking why I didn't come in to pick up the truck. I said the truck is suppose to be delivered. The receptionist said OK let me check. The salesman then called ad said I am so sorry, we will have the truck delivered tomorrow June 23, so I said you have to deliver before noon because I'll be going home to Tennessee over the weekend, he said no problem I will call the driver right now and have the truck delivered first thing tomorrow. Friday comes and NO TRUCK, I called and called and finally got hold of the salesman and was advised that the delivery drivers had broke down and were stuck along the highway and would not be able to deliver the truck as planned. I then got a text advising me that the manger would like to deliver the truck to me on Monday June 26th. I wasn't happy about this news but finally agreed..... When 1:00 rolled around and I still had not heard from the dealership, I called and was advised that the truck had damage from RATS that chewed through the wiring harness. I was shocked to hear that a brand new Ram pickup had RATS in it. I was then offered what I can only assume is a bait and switch deal. The Truck I was buying and had agreed to the price on was not going to be available due to RAT damage, but I was offered a similar Ran with less options and was not the color I wanted for the same price. I spoke to the manager Craig, who was very nice and contacted me a couple times but couldn't due much as he claimed that he didn't have the authority. I was then put on the phone with the OWNER and advised yes the truck I wanted had rat damage and that I could take the offered truck, I said the price difference from the internet to what you are offering is $2,000.00, so take the $2,000.00 off and he said I cant lose that much money on this truck, I said OK take $1,000.00 off and he said no, I told him that I had spoke to a local attorney and he said "You mean my friend" I said I am not sure who you are friends with but this is Bait and Switch and Georgia has very strict laws regarding Bait and Switch. He said I do not have to due business with you and after we talked for a while I was advised by the owner we have nothing left to discuss, I advised that I would write reviews and also contact Chrysler, he said you mean you would hurt my business, I said yes, what your doing is wrong........ I was really looking forward to this new Ram, I am now looking at Fords..... Dodge lost a loyal customer because of this one dealership, and their method of conducting business. Warn your neighbors and friends, BTW I was advised that the truck I was offered with RAT damage would be sold as new and untitled and the buyer would not be aware that they was purchasing a lemon........ This is wrong.
Terrible Experience Start to Finish - RAM_Owner
There were several issues with my buying experience and I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone! Some of the issues summarized below:
- I purchased a used vehicle site unseen. I asked the salesman to be honest and let me know what kind of defects it had before I agreed to purchase. He completed a "detailed" inspection and ensured me it was flawless. When I arrived to pick it up, there was a large dent and huge black mark in the rear bumper that also extended into the rear quarter panel sheet metal.
- Communication with the dealership is TERRIBLE!! Once I agreed to purchase the vehicle they wouldn't even answer my phone calls to finalize paperwork and complete the transaction. It was like pulling teeth to get the transaction completed. It shouldn't be that difficult.
- They detail all vehicles after they are sold so you can imagine the level of effort they put into it... not much.
- And the biggie that I'm still dealing with: The dealer did not get the last owner of the vehicle to sign the title transfer paperwork. Long story short, the end result is that I had to extend my temp tags for another 60 days and pay for it out of my own pocket. Currently the title still isn't signed and I can't get permanent registration for the vehicle until that happens.
I cannot believe that a licensed FCA dealership can operate like this. They need to get on a performance improvement cycle or lose their dealership rights.

The manager assigned to my car very helpful as far as explaining tire wear and rotation results. He came and talked to me to give me updates when my car was being serviced too. I have had 4 recalls and one oil tire rotation service done at Akin. I was able to talk with the service rep assigned to my car. Usually I find they just take the vehicle and do what ever then you pay ...done. Not at Akin! They are polite and check back with you periodically. The waiting area has complimentary drinks and computer area for you to use. I noticed many people were working on computers as they got car service done. Bathrooms are big and clean as well. I always have had a great service experience at Akin and will buy my next car there. We have been impressed with the phone communication as we go through the recalls on all 3 of our Dodge vehicles. Akin people have made it easy to stay in touch as we waited for airbags to become available Very impressive. Thank you.
