Great Truck buying experience! - Timothy Cholfin
Had an absolute wonderful experience with South County Buick GMC. This is the second time I’ve leased a vehicle from this dealership and the service just keeps getting better. The first time I leased a vehicle from this dealership I had just gotten back from a deployment to Afghanistan and I decided to take a vacation to CA. While in CA I decided that I wanted to replace my Hyundai with a GMC Terrain and I’m happy I did. The service was so great and the positive experience was so lasting that I returned for a second time. I was recently in CA again (vacationing of course) and I decided to visit South County Buick GMC while I was in San Diego. I was looking at getting a truck this time since I was always in need of a truck for fishing, hunting, camping and now, moving my friends. Once again the staff at South County Buick GMC did not disappoint. They were friendly, knowledgeable and their customer service was second to none. Not only did I get a great deal but they even offered to send one of their employees back to AZ with me to pick up the GMC Terrain. I live over 500 miles from the dealership! Who else would do that? I would specifically like to thank Hasaan and Jose for going out of their way to provide me the best customer service I have ever received. We had a wonderful experience at GMC North County in Escondido. We had visited the Hoehn dealership in Carlsbad first as we had been there a few weeks before when initially looking at GMC Acadia's. We had never visited GMC of Escondido when initially looking.
Hoehn played the "let me talk to the manager" game which includes going back and forth for over 2 hours as we were trying to trade in our car and lease a new one. It was agonizing how long this took with the manager never coming to meet us until we were walking out. He said we couldn't get the deal we wanted and doubted we could find it anywhere. Boy was he wrong! We were so irritated we drove straight to GMC North County dealership since we had not been there yet.
I called ahead and said we were on our way and asked if they had the car we were looking for. Pedro quickly looked and confirmed they did. We worked with Pedro Bernon, Sales and Leasing and Gabriel Ybarra, floor manager, both were fabulous. We showed them the car we wanted to trade in and discussed what we were looking for in a lease payment. We all discussed it and we quickly came to a deal. They were professional, respectful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The car buying/leasing environment has changed for the better over the last few years and it was clear at GMC North County. Just a straight forward and honest transaction. Hoehn is still working like it was 10 years ago with the manager behaving as the "wizard behind the curtain". No games with GMC North County, just a first class experience experience with people who know how to do their jobs. We HIGHLY recommend you seek out Pedro and Gabriel as you will actually enjoy the process instead of dread it. Also Omar handled the finance paperwork and he is a former Marine who just knows how to get it done while clearly explaining everything. A great team of people.

Worst Seevice advisor ever! - Saab
Larry is not helpful and lacks on customer service skills. I've been coming here quite a good times to service my Saab because MKB is the only dealer that's still servicing these vehicles, however I noticed the condesensy attitude on this guy since the first time but I just didn't care since I just wanted my vehicle serviced, but this LAST time was so irritable. I dropped my car for regular maintenance and I also told this guy to check on a squeaky noise on the front tire. I went home and waited 5 hours for Larry to call me and tell me how things were going with my car , instead I got a call from the shuttle driver telling me that I was about to be picked up. I called my "advisor' to know what was the deal with the fix and why I was never called earlier. Anyways, this guy didn't pick up and I gently and patiently left a voicemail. Well I got to the dealer and walked straight to his cubicle to ask him about the details and recommendations on my car and I saw him looking at me and just pretended to be busy and doing the "just a moment" signal with his index and thumb fingers. Ok, I waited on the sidewalk in front of his little see through glass office and he kept ignoring me, seriously! What was his deal? He doesn't need to like me or my car, I'm paying full price and he is there to do his job. At one point I just went to the cashier and asked for my car keys, he saw me leaving and did nothing to talk to me or even acknowledge me. I can't go back to a place where I feel like I'm begging when I'm paying for a service. My car still has the squeaky noise for the inability or neglection of Larry the advisor. Sorry my car is not a 2016 but I still like to care for it, but this guy has made look for a different vendor for a service.

This place sucks. I bought a used truck from them and 2 months later and $1200 later a new radiator was needed and gaskets. The 3 months later a new tranny, transfer case and Rear diff. so $8000 later and 3 months later, i get the truck back, Hasnt run good ever since. So beware of this place, go to Ron Baker or peoples chevrolet.
