Dealer Spotlight: Proctor Honda/Proctor Acura

The Proctor Dealerships in Tallahassee, Florida recently partnered with Dealerrater.com as a tool to show potential buyers the kind of service they can expect. The Proctor Dealerships, in their 99th year of operations, have built a reputation as the regions premier dealership group for customer service. The Proctor Dealerships have been recognized regionally and nationally, winning numerous awards for sales excellence and customer service.

The Proctor Dealerships is comprised of Proctor Honda and Proctor Acura. Both Dealers achieved American Honda’s highest designations, the President’s Award for Honda and the Precision Team for Acura. 2008 marked the ninth win for both dealerships. In addition, both dealerships were recognized as Council of Excellence winners, an award presented to dealerships with the nation’s top performing business departments. Proctor Honda, the zone’s top performing dealership was also locally recognized as the “best automotive dealership” in Tallahassee during the 2008 Tally Awards. The Tally Award is a local people’s choice award and this is Proctor Honda’s second consecutive win.

This type of recognition has become a staple of the Proctor organization. Daryl Green, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Proctor Dealerships notes, “the key to our past success has been treating our customers with respect and gratitude. If we are able to take care of the customer in the way we would each expect to be taken care of, the rest will fall into place.” The challenge was to be able to communicate this level of service to customers that have never experienced either dealership before. “Once someone becomes a Proctor customer, they are a Proctor customer for life. Word-of-mouth is our best form of advertisement. With our new partnership with Dealerrater.com, we are able to communicate our message to a much wider audience.”

Dealerrater.com has worked as an effective closing tool for the Proctor sales teams. During down time in the negotiation process, customers are invited to read testimonials on Dealerrater.com. In addition, internet shoppers are directed to the Dealerrater.com page to learn more about the Proctor Dealerships through the voice of their customers. Dealerrater.com allows the dealerships to have an easily accessible catalog of customers’ experiences not just from the sales departments, but from the service departments as well. “There is a certain piece-of-mind that a potential customer gets by reading a first hand experience of someone buying or servicing a car at our dealership,” Green says. “The ability to market our customer service standards through the voice of our existing customers translates into sales and service appointments.”
