The second part, however, can only be described as outright exploitation. I have been a loyal Infiniti of Denver customer for over 20 years, yet I was quoted nearly $500 for the replacement of cabin and engine air filters. I declined the service, purchased genuine OEM filters for $40, and replaced them myself in under two minutes—an easier task than refueling the car.
This is a simple, tool-free operation that takes a trained technician less than a minute to complete. Choosing to charge such an excessive amount is deeply disappointing and undermines the trust of long-time clients. I would strongly caution any customer—especially women or younger drivers unfamiliar with vehicle maintenance—against relying on this service department without verifying the necessity and fairness of the charges.
