Took our Odyssey in for a minor service and a problem with certain HVAC control panel backlights on the dash that were out.
I was greeted immediately by Daniel at the service center porte cochere and he checked me in, was on top of his game the whole time, didn't blow smoke or try to push anything additional, and made the initial process smooth and easy. Wanted to get a minor service done and have some burned out lights on the dash replaced. Service went smoothly and they also discovered torn control arm bushings.
Daniel worked with my third party warranty company to address both the lights on the dash and the control arm bushings. Daniel worked extremely diligently with the warranty company, whom was not the most cooperative or responsive, and in the end, the warranty company was only willing to address the dash lights and stated that until the control arm bushings were completely torn, they would not cover the cost for repair.
Initially this was frustrating, but Daniel let me know that control arm bushings will likely tear completely in the next 6mo to 1yr and that it was not a safety concern. He offered to have me come in at any time over the next several months and have them checked at no cost, so that I can monitor it and not let it get to a point where it is severely altering my alignment and thus chewing up my tires.
This whole process took only two days and the entire time Daniel was providing me with email updates on status (which I loved) and he was answering a ton of questions from me with concise answers in a helpful tone/manner the whole time.
I will be honest, typically, I am not a huge fan of dealerships. I have almost always done my own work on my other Hondas and am very particular. This experience from a customer service standpoint was stellar and made all the difference. I also feel that all service advisors should come from a Technician background (Daniel does) and I feel that this made a world of difference in how he was able to explain things and understand the real work behind the scenes.
Overall, a great experience, and one that reminded me of just how important the role of the service advisor is. When I go back to Capitol Honda - I will be working with Daniel if at all possible.
