My Review of Lindsay Chevrolet:
Along with my daughter, who was looking to make her first purchase of a new car, we arrived at Lindsay Chevrolet shortly after 1000 on Saturday 28 April 12. Mr. Alfonso Brooks met us as we approached the dealership. Because this was my daughter's "first automobile buy" I wanted it to be a good experience for her. She was considering a Chevy Sonic. Alfonso worked with her, not me, which is exactly what I wanted. He carefully laid out her options, positioned the hatchback and sedan models side-by-side in the lot, and walked her through the various features, and differences, between the two models. He certainly knew his cars, but then that's what all the sales consultants should know. What made Alfonso special was how well he related to my daughter. Yes, I was hovering around but he was working with her, not me, which is exactly what I wanted. He carefully stepped her through the various new technologies on the Sonic, which was good, for technology is certainly not my strong suite.
After the test drive (just my daughter and Alfonso; dad had coffee and a donut in the lounge area of the dealership) we spent a good hour just talking over finance and credit issues. Again, he proceeded at a slow pace so she would not be "lost" in the experience. I felt good about the process, but far more importantly, so did she. And he was completely familiar with working through the credit union that she had selected, got us a "special" discount, and again made sure she was cognizant throughout the time of what he was doing. We also got a quick tour through the servicing area and met the young lady that schedules the appointments, etc.
When the deal was finally closed, we went to the office of Ms Jewel Kelly,. Here again found the same attitude. Jewel worked slowly and carefully with my daughter, making sure she understood the rather arcane art of financing, service plans, etc. At all times she was working with the person buying the car, not with her dad, which is what I wanted.
But the time we were done, and met several of the other Lindsay sales and finance personnel who made it a point to meet and briefly talk with my daughter, Alfonso had got the new Sonic through the detail shop and was putting on new tags. I was happy...but more importantly...so was my daughter.
She tells me that Alfonso called her today just to "check in" to see if everything was going well. I appreciated that.
Well done to Alfonso, Jewel, and Lindsay Chevrolet.
