I checked in around 11:45 AM and didn’t get my vehicle back until approximately 2:30 PM.\n\nWhen my car was returned, the driver’s side mirror was dangling and unusable. I was told there had been an incident involving their car wash. Instead of simply taking responsibility and making the situation right, the experience became increasingly frustrating.\n\nThe service manager later claimed the mirror had already been broken before I arrived and that a previous repair had not been done correctly. However, my vehicle was fully drivable when I handed it over, and regardless of their opinion about a prior repair, I expected to receive my car back in at least the same condition in which I left it.\n\nWhat concerned me even more was how the situation was handled. The mirror suddenly appeared as a recommended repair item on the inspection paperwork after the incident occurred. I was also offered a “wholesale” repair price rather than a commitment to restore my vehicle if the dealership had contributed to the damage. At the same time, my concerns about new scratches on the hood were dismissed with the explanation that their car wash couldn’t have caused them because they wash new vehicles there every day. That isn’t evidence that damage is impossible—it simply dismissed my concern without a meaningful investigation.\n\nI left the dealership with a damaged mirror that I did not feel comfortable driving with. The attached photos show dealership personnel attempting to secure the mirror before I left.\n\nMistakes happen. What separates a good dealership from a bad one is how those mistakes are handled. I was hoping for accountability and a fair resolution. I’ve been a loyal Lute Riley customer since 1999, but the lack of support that day led me to leave and drive to Rusty Wallis Honda instead.\r\n\r\nAt Rusty Wallis Honda, the experience was the complete opposite. I pulled into the Express Service lane and was helped right away. Julian, the service advisor, explained my options clearly and offered to install the inserts at no charge if I purchased them from the Parts department. When the inserts were out of stock, the Parts advisor (Jose) quickly offered a discounted price on replacement blades as an alternative. I brought them back to Julian, he installed them promptly, and I was on my way.\r\n\r\nThe staff at Rusty Wallis were helpful, efficient, and genuinely customer-focused. They made the process easy and showed they valued my time and business.
