I originally bought a 2011 BMW 535i from Brendan Toth. When Brendan left BMW Annapolis, Dan Rykiel took over. When my new 535i arrived, Dan and the Finance Dept. helped us get through the paperwork quickly. I purchased a new 2010 Z4 and was encouraged by the salesman to purchase a product called Resist All. Only to find out after purchasing the car that everthing about the product was not fully disclosed. salesman to purchase a product called Resist All. Resist All is supposed to protect the exterior of the paint from water marks, tree sap, etc. It is supposed to protect the interior fabric against transfer of dye from clothing, stain, etc. After the first week and the first car wash, the car had streaks that took forever for me to wipe out. I had to wash the car several times and wipe in a circular motion (none of this was disclosed to me). Actually the product was purchased so as to minimize the amount of time spent maintaining the exterior/interior of the car when in actually it takes more time. The seats are tan and look as if I have had the car for several years. I own a 2002 525i with gray leather seats (and clean with leather cleaner) and they are cleaner than the seats in the 2010 Z4. Since owning the car I have been back and forth to the dealer on a weekly basis (with the exception of last week)trying to resolve this problem. I have filed complaints with all agencies as well as with the company Caltrex who provides the Resist All. In addition to this complaint, I was treated with disrespect. First being belittled because I was woman trying to resolve this problem with all men. Second, they treated me as though I was not knowledgeable about cars. How would you like if you brought your car over to have it detailed because of this Resist All problem. Only to have someone ask you "Do you know how to wash a car?" "Do you know how to take care of a $50,000 car?" How about this, you show them the blue streaks of dye that transfered from your jeans onto your seat only to be told, first, they don't see it. Second, this happens to light interior. Yet, the product Resist All is supposed to prevent this happening. I will not have my cars serviced there other than to correct the exisitng problem. That's only because there is no other dealership that I am aware of in the Annapolis, Baltimore, Washington, Virginia, area that uses this product. Most dealerships aren't even aware of this product. I have never been so humiliated in my life. I have owned several cars in my 52 years of age, but treated the way that I was treated today to resolve a problem that a product that they encouraged me to purchased was not working. Weeks ago, I asked to be refunded the cost of this product to which there was no reply. Now today, they want to refund me the money, I am still stuck with a product that does not do what it is supposed to do. I even went so far as to negotiate having the seats replace with darker seats to avoid having to keep bringing my car back. I attempted to trade the car in for a car with darker seats to avoid having to keep bringing the car back. They the dealershp was not willing to offer assistance. That is until today, can you believe that they put spit on their fingers to wipe off what appeared to be a white wax like substance from the trim of my car. I wanted them to look it to see if the Resist All caused the black trim to turn white. They were under the assumption that it was wax. Yet Resist All is not supposed to be wax. Now I believe that perhaps the product was misapplied. What's left -- if you can't mediate, or arbitrate, something as simple as this, the next course of action is to take legal steps, which I intend to do. I encourage not to purchase the product Resist All, and as a woman purchasing a car, its still a mans world, take a man with you but continue to be firm. More

I purchased a 3 series from BMW of Annapolis and was very satisfied with the sales and financing experience. Unfortunately, I was also satisfied with the service dept until recently. After reading many of the reviews on this site, it looks like most negative reviews are due to service issues. Loaners are not available unless you schedule service 2 or more weeks in advance. Not a big deal but if you car breaks down or has to be at the dealer due to an emergency, you are left hanging even though the sales people tout how you get a loaner if you have any service needs - they just forget to mention that it shouldn't be an emergency or needed quickly........... I took the car in 3 weeks ago as the tire pressure light would not go off even though the tires had air (or I thought had air). The tech took the car and came back to say the light was off and all was OK. He obviously never even inspected the tires as the light continued to come on and one tire continued to need air. Took the car back in and insisted they inspect the tire and a large nail was found. Of course, had the tire replaced at a cost of $353. Within 2 days, lost tire pressure in the brand new tire - took it back to find yet another nail in the brand new tire so again spend another $353 for another tire......... Mentioned my tire woes to a family member and long time BMW owner from another state and he asked why I didn't purchase road hazard insurance with the first new tire. I indicated it wasn't offered to me and his response was it has always been offered to him by his BMW dealer. So, I called BMW Annap parts department and asked if road hazard insurance was offered for tires purchased from them - spoke with Enoch - he indicated yes via the tire dealer that BMW Annap purchases their tires from - he put me on hold to get the price (and after waiting a long time, I finally hung up). I then called and spoke with Winny in the Service Dept. Let me premise by saying I asked to speak to the Service Manager and was told there wouldn't be one until next week (again, sounds like alot of employee turnover at this dealer). She indicated that she had asked the same questions for another customer 2 weeks prior to be told that no road hazard insurance was available. She then indicated she would check on it and call me back. She called back to indicate that Enoch was wrong and I explained that I would no longer use BMW Annap as I felt cheated as they could have offered me a choice to purchase the tire elsewhere especially when I was there due to a road hazard. She indicated they don't send business elsewhere - my response was to then offer consumers the choice to buy elseswhere or offer the road hazard insurance. I also explained that I no longer TRUST her service dept and will look elsewhere when needing to purchase anything for my car. It's not a question of sending business elsewhere it's simply doing the right thing for your customer. I then called Dealer Tires which is the dealer that sells or wholesales tires to BMW Annap and guess what - they indicated that BMW Annap can sell their road hazard - but why would they? They don't because then they don't make as much money off the consumer. Shame on them but my hard earned money will be spent elsewhere. $706 lesson learned! More
