I usually don't post reviews or engage in shining a bad light on a company but I am at my wits end with the service department at Capital Chevrolet. I dropped my car off for an engine replacement on Jan 10 light on a company but I am at my wits end with the service department at Capital Chevrolet. I dropped my car off for an engine replacement on Jan 10 and it is now Feb 21 and I am still without my car. Some of the issues with the engine stemmed from the condition of the used engine my warranty company sent (but that is another frustrating situation), so I can't fault Capital for that. My disappointment, anger and frustration is from the lack of communication from my assigned service tech and the service manager. The last message I got from my service tech was on Feb 10 letting me know the "extra" parts and labor were approved from my warranty company. I haven't heard ANYTHING from him since. Sat Feb 18 I left a message at 1:06 pm for someone to please follow up with me to give me a status of repairs and estimated return date of my car. The service dept closes at 4pm on Saturdays, and I did not hear back from them. Mon Feb 20 @12 noon, I called AGAIN, this time requesting to speak to the service manager, and I was advised they were in a meeting, and they would pass along the message to call me back later that day to discuss my "concerns"... no call back. Tues Feb 22, I called AGAIN requesting to speak with a service manager only to be told they were not available. I was placed on a "brief" hold, 15 mins and then hung up on! After about 10 mins to calm down, I called BACK AGAIN, asked to speak to a service manager, placed on another hold and then told the service manager just wrapped up with another customer and she was personally walking over to the mechanic assigned to my car to get a report on the repairs and she would follow up with me by the end of the day when they closed at 6 pm.....NO CALL BACK AGAIN!!! At this point my OnStar diagnostic report has informed me more than the service team at Capital Chevrolet! I was considering purchasing future vehicles from them or at least using them for other Chevy repair work in the future, but not now! I would not recommend them at all unless you enjoy no follow up calls or callbacks and poor customer service, then they are definitely in full supply in that area! More
I purchased my vehicle from Capital Chevrolet July 2021. The car was used and knowing this, I purchased an extended warranty to cover the costs of any repairs. Well I have had to have several repairs done to this car and even though I was told the warranty would cover everything including a new key fob if needed, this has not been the case. I had to pay for repairs to replace the gas cap back in July. I also am concerned that the engine issues I am having right now are not covered. I will never purchase another vehicle new or used from this dealership as the customer service is lacking. When I called today, as I sat beside the road in my non-working vehicle, I was not connected to a finance manager or anyone that could give me insight on my warranty. I was not expecting anyone to fix my car at this dealership as this is not their specialty, but I did expect someone to have the courtesy to contact me and supply the information I asked for. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. More
UNREASONABLE COST OF SERVICE: Today I took my Silverado to Capital Chevrolet for a routine oil change/tire rotation. This is where I bought my Silverado and where I have taken it for the majority of its s to Capital Chevrolet for a routine oil change/tire rotation. This is where I bought my Silverado and where I have taken it for the majority of its service. I did not ask for (nor was I offered) a price quote prior to the routine service. At the time of payment, the cost was $152. I stated to the service writer that $152 seemed high. The service writer responded, "we've had a price increase recently". I checked the receipts from my last three routine oil changes/tire rotations. Two (performed at the same dealership) were $96-108. One (performed at AAA) was $67. I carried two of these prior receipts back to the service writer and showed them to her. She responded, "we've had a price increase recently". After returning home, I checked on the cost of the same service (with 8 quart synthetic) at two other Chevrolet dealerships in the Raleigh/Durham area, to see if the other dealerships were experiencing similar price increases. These two local dealerships quoted that the cost of the same service today at their dealerships is $86-100. Therefore, Capital Chevrolet, after their "recent price increases", appears to be charging about 1.5-2 times more than other comparable, local Chevrolet dealerships for routine oil changes/tire rotations. That seems unreasonable. More
The mechanic was insulting; the service rep left me one message relaying that insult but leaving me at a loss as to what to do next. I called her and left messages but she never returned my calls. Because message relaying that insult but leaving me at a loss as to what to do next. I called her and left messages but she never returned my calls. Because I had a rental car, her refusal to answer my messages cost me money I wouldn't have had to pay if she had talked with me just once. More
Capital Chevrolet has a HORRIBLE service department. They look through you like don't exist, and seem to help begrudgingly! Ordered a part as well and was told it would arrive Tuesday, but come to find out, look through you like don't exist, and seem to help begrudgingly! My truck is at the dealership now and I have complained about my brakes making noise since I bought the truck. All this is in the notes all three time I have had it serviced with y’all. So the last time I about my brakes making noise since I bought the truck. All this is in the notes all three time I have had it serviced with y’all. So the last time I had it serviced y’all told me to make a appointment to leave it so you could fix it so I did . Now I’m being told y’all don’t have the parts in stock. And another thing is I researched and found the problem from GM with my truck. I have bought a $80,000 dollar truck that I’m getting the run around on. I will attach the write up. By the way I called the parts dept. and y’all have the parts in stock so tell me what is going on. More
