Mr. John Malan purchased the vehicle from our dealership on August 27, 2020. He has now posted comments on the DealerRater site 3 years, 2 months, and 15 days after his purchase. We have pulled Mr. Malan's file from the archives for review, and our store has also called and reached out to him.

After our review... 1). All paperwork in the file shows a window tint charge for $195, and that it was completed on the vehicle. Our Accessories Department dug into their side of things and they did find a discrepancy, so the customer will receive a refund for $195. 2). The customer did not pay for cleaning as he claims. The file shows a charge of $150 for a Hand Buff Synthetic Sealant. That charge was credited at the time of delivery. Original selling price was $50056, and it was adjusted to $49,900 which shows on the Purchase Order. That is a difference of $156, so the customer is ahead by $6. 3). A hotel receipt was found in the file for $127.45, so the customer will receive a refund for $127.45. The refunds for $195 and $127.45 total $322.45. The paperwork has been turned over to our Accounting Department for processing.

For the record... Two check were cut on December 7th, 2023 and mailed out to Mr. John Malan. One check of $127.45 for the hotel stay, and one check of $195 for the window tint. Our dealership has mailed these checks out twice to Mr. John Malan, and twice they have been returned.

First and foremost, our dealership does not manufacture vehicles. Our dealership does not have any control over the freight from the factory which may result in time delays. Our dealership does not warranty the products that General Motors produces. All of these things are under General Motors. After speaking to the salesman and his manager, there are key points that Mr. Erick Kelley forgot to mention about the steps those two employees and others at our dealership had taken to address his concerns. Photos were taken of the surface rust on the undercarriage, and sent to General Motors for their review. The General Motors representative stated in their response that the surface rust was at an acceptable level for the truck, and that there was nothing for them to fix. Even though it was not required, our dealership offered to take the vehicle back in on trade at the full price that Mr. Erick Kelley paid. The first step taken was to see if we could find a replacement from our inventory or at another dealership. Unfortunately because the truck was a 2023 model there was nothing that was available in an equal or close to match. Our next step was to find an incoming stock vehicle that was available in our inventory. There was a truck that was a couple weeks out from arrival and it was presented to Mr. Kelley. Our salesman said that Mr. Kelley stated, he was going to try and work with other dealerships to find what he was after. Obviously nothing worked out on that end for Mr. Kelley, and he eventually took us up on our offer for the truck that was inbound to our store. Mr. Erick Kelley was never made to trade in his truck as he claims. The choice was solely his to return and take delivery of a second vehicle.
