I asked for the dealerahip's bottom price on a vehicle and was quoted an excellent price. Super exciting! When I called to give a down payment to hold the car, the total I was given was over a thousand do and was quoted an excellent price. Super exciting! When I called to give a down payment to hold the car, the total I was given was over a thousand dollars more than what we discussed. They had tacked on "clear coat" and Scotchguard, theft protection, and window tinting (windows were already tinted). After I threatened to walk away, they reduced the "extras" to a little over $600. The deal was good enough that I would have been shooting myself in the door by walking away at that point, but it galled me to do business with a dealership that uses this type of dishonest dealings. I feel like many probably do, but I'm sure some out there don't. Don't quote me one price then attempt to charge me another! More
