We were impressed with his thorough and knowledgeable review of the two cars in which we were interested. We were considering the Legacy and Outback. Before getting into test drive each vehicle he took the time to show every accessory.. He carefully demonstrated engine parts, what to expect of each engine when driving, and shared how the car would handle on the road. We like the Subaru and felt badly that we could not buy either car at this time. You treat your customers with respect. We have shared these positive experiences we had with John and Exeter Subaru when ever we have the opportunity... More

And was impressed by the friendly and non-aggressive style I had not found at other car lots in my travels. My salesman Nick, was very knowledgeable and engaging, sharing not only information about the car and what I would be able to get with it, but also on the dealership and his experiences working there. In the end they worked with me to get the exact car I was looking for, despite that car not even being on their lot at the time. A great overall experience, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in the market for a new car. More

I had a definite amount of money to spend with my trade with no wiggle room at all. Tim Hartford understood my needs and bent over backwards to make everything work for me. From test driving, explaining the Forester and working with the Subaru staff he made it possible for me to have a gorgeous new car for the price that I needed and gave me service that I haven't seen elsewhere. I would definitely recommend Exeter Subaru to anyone and Tim Hartford for their sales agent. Great experience! More
New Car Buying Experience Dan was outstanding in his support. With his knowledge of the cars, even though he does not own one himself (not a disqualifying issue for me..lol) was outstanding. There was no pressure throughout the process, and we were allowed to make an informed decision before buying our new Outback. Truth be told, my wife and I are former Subaru drivers, having owned two previously - a 2000 and 2002 Outback. Incidentally, the 2000 Outback saved my life during a rollover on the Storm King Mountain in New York a few years ago, and walked away with no injuries. The process was easy, and look forward to making another purchase from Exeter Subaru real soon! I highly recommend Dan and Exeter Subaru if you are in search for a new vehicle! More
Quick and easy Two weeks ago, for no particular reason, I decided to drive through the Exeter Subaru lot. I was not really in the market for a car, but my 10 year old van was beginning to have a few problems. My attention was immediately drawn to a used MINI Cooper which seemed to be priced very fairly. On a whim, I entered the dealership, and was immediately greeted by Eric St. Pierre. We took the MINI out for a drive, talked about the features of the car, among other things. By the end of the test drive, I felt like we were old friends. Eric will do very well in any sales position he chooses, as he works hard, but does not pressure, knows his inventory, has terrific people skills, and is just clearly a good guy. After I decided to purchase the car at an extremely competitive price, he kept me informed and up to date with phone calls and e-mails. Everything went very smoothly, and I took ownership a few days later, allowing time to complete some minor work on the car. From this recent seamless experience, I would highly recommend both Eric St. Pierre and Exeter Subaru. More

Overall I had a good car-buying experience, which was fairly quick from the time I looked at the car I wanted and was able to drive it away. When I first went and looked at what would be my new car, I was there before the doors even opened. Eric was one of the first salesmen to arrive and right away, after getting out of his own car, greeted my friend and I as we were looking at the cars. I knew which car I wanted to look at and test drive, and he told me we had to wait for his manager to show up so he could get the plates. In the meantime though, he grabbed the keys, started the car and it gave us plenty of time to look it over before we were able to drive it. He was extremely helpful and honest with what he knew and didn't. So, after test driving, we went inside, discussed pricing and wrote up a P&S (purchase & sale). The other great thing about Exeter, is they partner with the same institution I bank with! However, because of certain unfortunate events outside of anything to do with the dealership, I ended up going straight to my bank to discuss getting a loan, which they had no problems in doing so, as long as they could get the P&S from the dealer. This is where the slight hassle started. I didn't realize I had a P&S, just didn't know what it was as I don't do this very often, so I called the dealership to speak to Eric. He told me he couldn't supply a P&S to my bank until I came in and signed more paperwork and wanted me to go through them instead of my bank directly anyway. So after a brief conversation, I realized I already had what I needed and gave it to my bank. It was at this time I started to understand Eric's insistence to get me to go through them. My bank was able to give me a better rate and loan term with smaller payments than what Eric had been able to come up with. My bank told me this happens all the time, even though the dealership is directly partnered with them. Once that was all settled and I left my bank with a new loan and check for the car, I headed straight for the dealership. When I got there, Eric was occupied assisting other customers (no problem here), but I barely spoke to him. Instead, I was able to finish up most of the paperwork with the business manager (again, no problem here). It's what happened after I handed over my bank's check. It took nearly three hours to get my temp plates and have them inspect the car so I could be on my way. Normally, this wouldn't have bothered me as much, but I had a pressing dead-line that I barely made in time due to these delays. Now, even after the "bumps in the road", I would still HIGHLY recommend Exeter to anyone looking for a good car-buying experience as it is just a very warm and welcome environment where you know they are there to help you anyway they can. Just make sure you don't have any appointments the day you go to buy your new beauty. :) More

I was introduced to Eric by some friends that had just bought a Subaru from him and they felt very strongly that I needed to work with him on my new car. I knew what I wanted and had already gone to another dealer so I could compare my experience. The facility is nice, and the people that work there were very friendly. Eric treated me like we had been friends for a long time, he was honest and gave me the facts and a very reasonable deal. I did not feel like there was any real pressure to buy, although at that point I was very ready and we sealed the deal. The car was ready when promised, the paperwork went very smoothly and Eric took the time to walk me through the features of my new car. Great experience and I would recommend Exeter (and Eric) to anyone looking to buy a Subaru. More
