My 2006 Ford Freestyle was brought to your facility to have its transmission checked. After the initial evaluation, I was told the car needed the intake manifold and the air filter box replaced. have its transmission checked. After the initial evaluation, I was told the car needed the intake manifold and the air filter box replaced. I questioned: Once this work was completed, will this solve all the problems of my car? After all, I initially brought the car to have the transmission checked. I asked Ken Brown, “What about the transmission?” He assured me that once they fix the engine, I can pick up the car. I was assured by Ken that there was no problem with the transmission. The car was ready for pick up $1200.00 later. Unfortunately, after the test drive, the news came that the car needed a transmission. When I was told the news, I arranged for a used transmission to be delivered, and they could install it at your location. The install of the transmission went well, however, they discovered that the engine was overheating. So they installed a new water pump, thermostat and battery. At that point, the car was considered done. Time for pick up of the car after three months and a bill of $6,400. On my way home, driving the car for less then two miles, I almost ran out of gas. I was very unhappy and I was concerned that my fuel pump would not be working due to the potentiality of running out of gas. I filled up the gas tank and the car almost didn’t start. I thought my problems were over. But after driving another 16 miles the NEW water pump that was just installed started leaking. So, I returned the car and the water pump was replaced. Again, I picked up the car. At that time, I was told there was an exhaust leak coming from the catalytic converter that was removed in order to get at the transmission. At this point, I believed it was wise to haveI it fixed by a custom muffler repair shop. I expected the shop to find the exhaust leak, but, to my dismay, the mechanic also had found there was a broken stud in the exhaust manifold, caused by your mancanic, that needed to be fixed. This cost me an added expense of $200.00 that was caused by YOUR MECHANIC! I was, once again, disappointed to be told this news. Needless to say, another disappointment. Sadly, I would hesitate to recommend your dealership/repair shop to my friends and family, at this time. Perhaps, your company can see my frustration and somehow find a way to redeem your good reputation. For the record, I went to school with the deceased Mike Moriarty; he was a man of honor and this is why I decided to patronize your facility. The jury is out; as to my doing business with your company moving forward. In spite of my experience, I wish you success in 2023. Sincerely, Jerry Guy Lacasse More
