I purchased a 2012 car from Gale Toyota in Enfield. I found out during signing that it was "as-is", and still went through with it. I could have bought some extended warranty at this point, but I didn' I found out during signing that it was "as-is", and still went through with it. I could have bought some extended warranty at this point, but I didn't. That was a huge mistake. The transmission failed within the first thirty days. I expected the dealer to offer me a hand- even the slightest discount on service or parts. Absolutely nothing. Nothing at all. Since it's over seven years old, CT laws preventing the dealer from limiting the implied warranty, do not apply to the sale, so it's completely legal for the dealer to sell you a car with a bad drive train for almost 20,000 and then not even say sorry when it happens. I signed for it, and it was my own fault. The service department told me to call sales because there was nothing they could do about it. The sales manager gave me the number for a transmission shop, and told me to take care. More
