"Poor Management Policy"

To whom it may concern, Today I called Glens Falls Toyota to have a key cut for my 2005 Toyota Corolla. I have purchased (2) aftermarket keys on E bay. I spoke with Heather in service as I was unable to reach the Parts Dept. as the answering service stated leave a message ( Not the best policy). Heather was very helpful, however, she advised me that the Dealership will not cut aftermarket keys. I purchased the car new at GF Toyota and it has been an awesome vehicle, however, the key is starting to wear down. I have the new key code tag and I understand that if the key did not work it would be my responsibility, but, I guess that does not matter. I worked as a Service Advisor for 23 years and have seen decisions such as this made by management that are absolutely dumb founding. Note to Management.... It's the little things that make huge differences. Remember it is easier to retain a customer than it is to get them back in the fold after they have gone elsewhere. Sincerely, Larry Steininger

"Poor service department"

I recently took my vehicle in because the car was having difficulty shifting/idling. The first time I was in they adjusted the throttle. When the symptoms continued I took the vehicle back and they claimed to have checked the transmission for leaks as part of investigating trouble. They found the vehicle was 3 quarts low on fluid but could not identify a leak. Within 2 weeks I again was experiencing the same symptoms with the car and made an appointment at a local transmission shop. The shop called within minutes of looking at the car saying the leak was found; both hoses connected to the transmission were rotted and leaking. They were shocked that the dealer service department did not identify especially when the transmission shop went to the dealership to pick up replacement hoses. I have been to the dealership several times in the past but generally only for recalls; my experience with the service department is they are difficult to deal with and are short with customers with questions. I have avoided the service department b/c they provide below average service and unfortunately went in for my most recent needs and they could not find and fix the problem. I would not buy a vehicle there and will not be back for any service needs

Your staff has always made us feel as if we are special people, not just another customer. We have had many Toyota Camerys, and now that we are older, we drive a Rav 4 (it's easier to get in and out of.) Each Toyota has always been a joy to drive. "Need better Communications between departments. "

Part of the purchase agreement on my Highlander included an update to the Navigation software. The update was done quickly and in a very timely manner. I enjoyed a cup of coffee in the pleasant waiting room. Everything was fine until it was time to collect my car and leave. The service adviser presented me with a bill for several hundred dollars. Although my bill of sale clearly stated that the update was included in the purchase price, that information didn't make it onto the service order. It only took a few minites to straighten out the situation, but I was embarassed as I stood there waiting for the situation to be resolved by the Sales Manager. It was clear that my word wasn't good enough, and the bill of sale that was in the car was never looked at. Otherwise, everything was great.

"Nobody called me "

I had an appointment for 8:30 on a Saturday morning for an oil change. I dropped my car off early and went home. After sitting around with no word or update about my car I called the dealership around 12:30, figuring it did not take 4 hours for an oil change.I was told that the service department left at noon. I asked if anyone was planning on letting me know, to which I did not get an answer.

You should have been told at the time you dropped your car off that the Service Department closes at noon, and you could have come back by noon to pick your car up, no phone calls required by us or you. We need the input to improve, thank you. The person you mentioned, Nicole, is a salesperson and was trying to help, but she did not want to speak for the Service Department.
