Best New Car Purchase Experence Ever We learned 2 important things while shopping for a new Honda CRV on Monday, May 25: 1. Memorial Day is the busiest day of the year at car dealership We learned 2 important things while shopping for a new Honda CRV on Monday, May 25: 1. Memorial Day is the busiest day of the year at car dealerships 2. Honda of Concord (NC) is a great place to buy. We first got an internet quote, then were greeted by the GM who assigned Sales Consultant Joy Spencer to work with us. Very professional, thoroughly knowledgeable of their line of vehicles and the CRV which we came in to see, a truly friendly and charming person (as opposed to "sales friendly") and ZERO pressure to buy. After carefully determining what we really wanted and were willing to pay, we agreed on a price (not the typical "let me see what my manager says" stuff with long delays and pressure from a "closer"). We asked to speak with a financing person as we did not want to take money out of the stock market at this time and were introduced to Business Manager Perry Flythe. An interestingly rewarding identical experience - he quickly pulled 6 financing quotes for us based on our FICO and went over the additional options the dealership offered, explaining them in an overview manner first and then in detail where we indicated interest in more information. Again - a thoroughly professional no pressure approach by a knowledgeable friendly businessman. Of particular note is how this dealership handles your information - when we went into Mr. Flythe's office he had to unlock the door - our information was kept behind a locked door for the 20 seconds he was out of his office meeting us and escorting us inside. After completing our financing arrangements (at a lower cost than our own bank offered and no surprise fees etc.) we were introduced to Product Specialist Austin Miller who sat with us in our spotlessly clean new CRV and answered all of our questions about the technology in the vehicle. If you have not purchased a new car recently you should be prepared to learn a lot about how smart the new cars are. Another friendly professional who answered every question to the detail level we desired, synced our phones with us, explained the consequences of some of the decisions one makes when first setting up electronics so we could make informed decisions, etc. No pressure, No rush to get us out the door and to the next customer. A 3rd great experience. Received a follow-up call the next morning from Ms Spencer to ensure everything went smoothly on the drive home and answer any questions. In summary - a dealership that was immaculate (as all Hendrick stores are), properly staffed for an exceptionally busy day, every employee we met was professional, friendly, listened well and knowledgeably responded to every question. We finished with a great price (checked other dealerships and no one would even try to meet the price), top notch service, a feeling we had made 3 new friends, and the exact vehicle configuration we were looking for. I would recommend anyone looking for a new vehicle to start on their internet site as it helps you configure the vehicle the way you really want it, and ask for Joy (704-787-4291) at the dealership. I took one car for a test drive, but quickly realized it was not the right choice. TimBo suggested I check out a similar model with different options. I gave it a test drive and thought it was great! Once we knew which car to choose, TimBo and HOC in general understood my schedule and made it easy to come back to the dealership later that week to close out the paperwork, which took roughly an hour. Very easy process, no pressure sales, great price and financing. Great experience all together. Stephen More
