I would have gave one star, but Derek Stone is the only reason why the dealership receiving 2, as he is a phenomenal sales/person, and his hands are tied, in the current situation. They just lost me as a reason why the dealership receiving 2, as he is a phenomenal sales/person, and his hands are tied, in the current situation. They just lost me as a customer, coming from 2018 G63, 2019 S560, 2023 S580, in a matter of 4 years, and 2 trades in. I lost all faith back in 2018 shopping locally in NY, which is when I found MB of Akron, but recent events is why I made the decision to stop shopping here. My relationship with Derek was always professional and courteous, and I am not the type to want the newest car right when it comes out, I am willing to wait no problem, especially to pay MSRP or better. I pre-traded a car back in early December 2022 to get an allocation on a GLS63, which is not in high demand like a G63. I told him from day 1, I am not in a rush, but the time frame to get it was mid September for my mothers birthday. He said shouldn't be an issue. Being that they are a solid size dealership in the Midwest, they get allocations on AMG's all the time, according to Derek. I trust Derek, so I did not really check in with him every week or even every month, but around every 2 months. He has no update, consistently no update, at this point we are in April, I'm getting a little impatient, as time is ticking now. I am like if you cant get it, let me know so I look elsewhere to get an order in, but he said we should be able to... At this point I honestly didn't think they could get me one, as they recently announced they could start ordering 2024 models soon, and he said we might have better luck doing that instead of trying to get the 2023. I said Its been way to long, Im already half way in to waiting for a G63, and I know they have been consistently getting G63 allocations, so I asked him at least get me a G63 allocation then, but he says they are still going for $20k over, I'm like the time I kept my pre trade money I could be earning 8% in the market or at least even 4% in a savings account. Least they could do is offer a G63 at MSRP, as I considered myself a good client. Keep in mind that he told me stories also about how they are all selling G63 over MSRP, but some clients who were able to get MSRP even turn around and sold them to make a profit when they were specifically told not too, and made $50k+. Derek knows I would never do that, being that I did not want to jeopardize the relationship over $50k. In the end, he said the best they can do is $10k over for a G63, I said forget it, just send my a check for my trade. This past 6 months I wasted waiting to get a GLS63..., now probably won't be able to get one in time for my mothers birthday. They chose $10k profit over retaining a good long term customer. What a shame. More
