Post purchase experience The people at the dealership (Shiner and Wagner) were very friendly and accommodating during the purchase phase of the 2013 SL550 I bought from them. The people at the dealership (Shiner and Wagner) were very friendly and accommodating during the purchase phase of the 2013 SL550 I bought from them. My post purchase experience has been much different calling into question the after purchase level of customer care. There were several items that surfaced when inspecting the car that the dealership agreed to fix. They handled all but one satisfactorily. The one that was not dealt with as promised was a deep scratch in the hood. The scratch in the hood was an important item from an appearance standpoint and because I had paid to have the clear bra product applied to the hood and did not want the scratch to show through. Adam Ruff, service advisor, assured me that the scratch would be repaired before the clear bra was applied. That turned out not to be the case. They attempted to remove the scratch but were unsuccessful in removing it completely and applied the clear bra anyway. At the time I picked up the car the scratch was not visible. However, once home and in the right light it is still very much there. The folks working on the repair had to know that. And I am guessing it was discussed with Adam who ultimately decided not to fix it correctly. To give the readers of this review some insight into my experience with Mercedes Benz I now own three of them (two purchased in Walnut Creek and one in El Dorado Hills) and have been a customer of the Walnut Creek Mercedes Benz dealership for 13 years. I have an outstanding relationship with the Walnut Creek dealership and in particular my service writer. I made the assumption that I would have a similar experience with El Dorado Hills but much to my disappointment that has not been the case. It was likely naievete on my part to think that the Mercedes Brand of customer experience would be consistent across dealerships but based on my experience with El Dorado Hills I would not do business with them again and would not recommend them to anyone else. More
