Incompetent Service Department! They claim their Certified! I would give it ZERO STARS if they would let me.. My story starts out like this.. I'm looking for a nice, lightly used 4x4 farm truck from their facility, granted I had loads of other offers, My salesman *Protecting his identity as this wasn't his fault let's just call him Bob* So Bob was very diligent at finding me what I was asking for and on January 29th he said they had a nice one with a little higher miles on it and it's everything I was looking for and they were running it through "Service," you'll understand why I put that department in quotations in a little bit. Friday, January 30 rolls around and Bob says that my truck is getting out of detail and "service" and it was able to be test driven that day. I went to the dealer to test drive it and it ran fine for the block or two that I ran it. Now this is my first vehicle purchase, let alone a truck, so I thought that much of a test drive would have been fine. We go back and Bob hooks me up with Nick Markoff, not protecting him, and we settle on a deal where I'm buying this vehicle and I have an implied guarantee that it will not cause any major issues after driving off the lot. After talking to the finance lady and getting approved it was time to take my "new to me" truck home and no more than 5 miles down the road my service engine light came on, ABS light and Parking Brake light come on. Surely this was an overlook on the "Service Department" as I told my salesman Bob the next day he told me to bring it in to "Service" to have it looked at further. Monday rolls around and I did, except they didn't have any openings so I had to drive back on Tuesday after making one. I make an appointment for 7:30 AM the earliest I could and I am stuck there until 12 PM with no word as to what is wrong with my truck. I decided to have them give me a loaner until its fixed and Bob gave me a car with no gas and oil change light on.. Guys this dealership is a joke.. Back to my "Service" problem.. Well Nick gave me a callback stating that they have fixed the EBCM switch for me and thinks that I should be grateful as it was overlooked by the "service" department that OK'd it for sale and on top of that I find out that two (2) of my engine valves are severely misfiring and could cause my engine to stall at speeds over 50 miles per hour.. Needless to say I was FURIOUS! After paying what I thought a VERY high price for a 14 year old vehicle, only to find out that the engine needs to be replaced and that the Dealership, JEFF SCHMIDT, will only cover half of the cost. So on top of my $10,000 truck I now owe them $2,000 extra to replace the engine. I try everything in my power to cancel the deal within the first 5 days of ownership but Nick Markoff and the rest of the Managers there don't give a xxxx about a customer after the sale is made. Wouldn't respond to my emails and didn't think that what they did should be covered by them, when I could have gone to ANY corner car shop and bought a truck for a quarter of the cost and still not be as butt hurt about buying a new engine.. Save your time and money and DO NOT shop here!! They only care about you until you sign those papers.. then anything that happens is on you.. As the great Nick Markoff said: "We can't Possibly Guarantee every vehicle that goes out, they are machines, and machines break." Way to hide behind your logic as a destroyer of lives.. Now I have a vehicle that I owe $10,000 on and it won't even start to leave my house.. I now need it towed to a mechanic.. All this is due to JEFF SCHMIDT's "SERVICE" DEPARTMENT not looking over their vehicles before turning around and selling them. If you made it this far thank you for reading my review.. If the car is sold AS-IS, buyer beware, as anything that happens to it the SECOND you leave the lot it's likely all on you.. More
Horrible customer service, incompetent workers I had requested online, and received conformation, for an oil change, tire rotation, and a replacement hood rod prop clip. There was a ice storm the morning of my appointment and the garage did not open until 9am. This I understand. What I am upset about is the attitude of the workers there. Rather than apologizing for my inconvenience in being admitted 50 minutes after my appointment, I was lectured about an "act of god" (which had been forecasted several days in advance). While waiting for my car to be services, I was confronted by a hostile worker regarding the location of the wheel lock key. He was upset and made it seem like my fault that he was unable to locate it in my car. He told me that the last person to rotate the tires must not have put it back. I find this disturbing, as the last place that rotated my tires was this dealership. I also find it hard to believe that the dealership does not have a master key. I told the service person to skip the rotation (I will go to another, more competent, dealership and have this taken care of). The issue of the hood prop clip was never mentioned. I will not be back. More
The power steering went out on my daughter's Pontiac while she was away at college. Usually I do all the work myself but was too far away (and it was below freezing out). Did some research and found Jeff Schmitt Buick was close. Called and scheduled an appointment. They had courtesy transportation and fixed the car for less than I thought it would cost. Also fixed a coolant leak that I had been trying to track down. The entire experience was easy and simple. I forget the name of the service manager I was working with but he was one of the most helpful people I have worked with at a dealership. This was one of the best service experiences I have had. More

We were preapproved in minutes and set up an appointment to check out the Chevy Impala LT and make the purchase. We arrived early and looked around the lot for a few minutes and found a second certified Chevy Impala LT. We decided to ditch our gas guzzling truck and SUV and buy 2 Chevy Impalas! Andy did an excellent job coordinating the 2 sales. Shawn did a great job getting the transaction finalized. I have never had such a stress-free car purchase in 30 years of car buying. We will be making the drive to Schmitt Auto Group for our future purchases. The Impalas got 33 mpg on the highway back to Indianapolis. More

BEFORE BUYING AT ROUTE 2 HYUNDAI, I HAVE ALWAYS DESPISED DEALING WITH NEW CAR DEALERSHIPS!! NOW IT'S LIKE GOING TO VISIT FRIENDS.. We have been long time customers of Rte. 2 Hyundai. In 2001 we purch DEALING WITH NEW CAR DEALERSHIPS!! NOW IT'S LIKE GOING TO VISIT FRIENDS.. We have been long time customers of Rte. 2 Hyundai. In 2001 we purchased our first SantaFe from Josh Hamel. As some problems did arise with our 2001 SantaFe, Jesse, the Service Manager, always had a loaner vehicle available if necessary and scheduled repairs quickly and efficiently. The vehicle was always washed and vacuumed when we picked it up. We were impressed with Josh, Jesse and the dealership in general. Back in 2004, we purchased our second SantaFe from Josh, along with personal assistance from General Manager, Mike DiPlacido. Mike, personally kept us updated in his extensive efforts to locate the SantaFe, exactly equipped and in the Burgundy color we wanted. We were very pleased and surprised that the GM truely wanted to make us happy with our second SantaFe. On 11/13/2011, we made sure our friend Josh was working so, we could purchsae our third SantFe at Rte. 2. We wouldn't THINK OF GOING ANYWHERE ELSE! Josh asked if we would be trading in our 2004. "Absolutely not, that one is going to our daughter." It still runs like a top and we won't give it up. Josh has always been friendly, couretous,knowledgable,and VERY HONEST when dealing with us and he never applies pressure. Josh applied all rebates and promotions that he possibly could to help us negotiate for our new SantFe Limited. My wife and I were very happy with a fair price on the best vehicle for our family. We anticipate many safe, happy, trouble free years ahead with our new 2012 SantaFe when it arrives. We have confidence and have always been very satisfied with this dealership and their vehicles. When I need a new vehicle in 3 years, it will be a Sonata for me. More
