I’ve been taking my VWs to Fairfax Volkswagen for over five years...or more accurately, I’ve been taking them to Leon King. The dealership itself and service center as a whole is *maybe* 3 stars (a solid 2 for their sales department). From a sales perspective, Sheehy in particular is far better and Alexandria at least has much better pricing. However, despite the moderate dumpster-fire Fairfax VW tends to be, I still take my car there for service. Why? Leon is why...he’s by far the best VW service manager in the DC metro area I’ve met. He’s very knowledgeable, always good natured, a great communicator, and a joy to work with.
Absent Leon, I wouldn’t set foot in Fairfax VW...so I guess you could say I endure that dealership to deal with Leon.

Recently purchased used 2014 Mini Cooper JCW Countryman, once I drove it off the lot (after the test drive) less than 20 miles down the road, I hear squealing, turns out it's the pressure plate. They ask me to bring it back in and they'll take a look at it. Took it to their service department and after several drives by their team, they could not find or repeat the problem. Service representative advised me to take it to mini and have them take a look at it- stating I would want "mini" service techs working on the car. Finally able to take it to mini, they are able to locate the problem, let me know it's the pressure plate and ran the estimate for repair on this item for $2,481.62. I called Lindsey back, transferred to used sales manager and said mini found the problem, here it is.. Pressure plate and here's the estimate... Lindsay than backs out and washes their hands clean of the problem.. Sorry, normal wear and tear item, nothing we can do... WOW, yes it is a normal wear and tear item, but really, sell me a car that is sitting on YOUR LOT with a pressure plate problem.. in other words the car NEEDS repair. YOU sold me a car that NEEDS REPAIR. So, at the request of the used sales manager, I bring it back to your shop, they cannot find the problem, recommend taking it to mini, find out the issue is pressure plate and suddenly wash hands clean. Funny how we went from thanks for your business, here's my card, let us know if we can assist to....... sorry, can't help... WOW.... will NEVER do business with these folks again and will NOT recommend them to anyone. I called back to Lindsay dealership about 20 min after I left the showroom and suddenly not their problem... WOW.... only highlight of the visit was Alfonso in sales... Only follow on advice, check out forums, see what they say about the pressure plate, I would think you can get another who knows, 30,000 miles out of it....

Our sales person Kathy Johnson was truly outstanding in every way! My wife and I have purchased over 10 new cars in our lifetime and this was FAR AND AWAY the very best experience we have had. Kathy was extremely attentive, knowledgeable, compassionate, and best of all a fantastic advocate! Living over 1,000 miles away we were a bit nervous about buying a $68,000 car sight unseen. Kathy, along with the sales manager Stefan St. John put our hesitation at ease....and boy did they deliver...Literally! After negotiating an unbelievable deal our new XC60 T8 Plug-in Highbryd was delivered to our driveway within days! Not a scratch on it..shiny and new! Kathy took pictures and video of the car before and after it was prepped. She was in frequent text communication with us and sent us a picture of it being loaded on the transport truck! They even set up the shipping with a significant discount and covered a portion of the registration. In addition, Carme Vitale the business manager was outstanding. He was kind and made the paperwork a breeze. Unlike a traditional transaction, we didn't have to wait for hours...this was fast and easy! Purchasing this car was by far the easiest, least time consuming, most pleasant car buying experience we have ever had! OH, did I mention that we got the deal of a lifetime?! Why should it take nearly four hours to buy a used car?
I made an appointment for this and specified the car I was interested in.
The person I arranged to meet was not there when I arrived after a three-hour drive.
One of his staff instead "assisted" me.
The salesman did not even know the car I was interested in..
I expected the car to be waiting for me out front but it took 15 minutes to locate the car.
It took another 3+ hours to negotiate!

I chose this establishment because of their reputation for the best deals. I was extremely disappointed in their customer service, however. I sent a message to the salesperson that I have been working with previously a note, asking if they could match the price from another dealer and received a very emotionally-driven and discriminatory response. While they may claim to have the lowest prices in town, they should invest in sensitivity training for their staff. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone, until this issue gets resolved.

There is a genuine 'connectedness' amongst all the employees with the dealership that I've never seen before.
My judgement is that it produces a level of service that clearly speaks to 1) caring for the customer, 2)seeing to it
that the performance of the customer's car meets or exceeds the customer's expectations when he purchased it,
3) that the work is professional and equitably priced. In short, Martens Volkswagen owners, sales and service
personnel are a team with a philosphy to do good work, to please and more than likely keep that customer
