Recall fix - joys2lt
I needed to turn in recalled keys. They need to make new ones. It took a lot longer than they estimated but we had a comfortable place to wait with drinks and snacks
Top Reviewed Service Specialists At This Dealership
Awesome and relaxing - gilmore, David72
Rodney Nelson was absolutely very professional and very knowledgeable. He spent a lot of time with us showing us the vehicles available and knew what we were looking us . He put no pressure on to buy a vehicle. He took care of everything for us with the paperwork. We really enjoyed ourselves in looking for the right vehicles to purchase. We were treated with respect and as friends.
Awesome - LovemyFord87
My experience was very friendly and honest with the sales staff. Buying with a Dealership that puts the customer first. Service team was also very helpful and took alot of time with my questions
Sorry service department - Carguy1334
Very dissatisfied with the service department . Over charge people for repairs s diagnostic fees. Bought last 3 vehicles from here. I won't do that again with this kind of service working on my vehicle. Beware try some where else.
Diagnosis of noise under hood - LJH72
WARNING: Do not trust Southern Chevy dealership in Foley, Al.!! I took my car there to "check out" a noise. I was told that the $95 "diagnosis" showed I had a WORN OUT AC belt & BAD BELT TENSIONER that need to be replaced for $344.77. We agreed, only to be told that didn't fix the problem-so it "might" be the clutch or compressor. We decided to wait until we returned to Illinois, but I asked for the "replaced" parts. They were shocked & said, "no one had ever asked them that before." When we returned home, I took them to the local dealership here & asked them to look at them. The service manager commented that the belt looked brand new-which reminded me that on my previous "pre-trip" check up, they had called to say that everything checked out fine, although there were 2-3 belts that were looking a "little" worn, &, even though they assured me that they would probably make the trip, I opted to have them replaced anyway. When they checked my records, they found that one of the belts they replaced was a NEW AC BELT. This prompted them to then check the tensioner that Southern had replaced, & actually made a video of the test-showing the tensioner was in 100% perfect working condition! When I contacted the service manager at Southerns, I offered to send a copy of their diagnosis, a copy of my receipt & pictures of the NEW belt they CUT OFF, & the video of the test on the tensioner-along with a statement from the service manager that stated that, "if any of his mechanics ever charged a customer for replacing parts like this, they would be signing their last paycheck". I was just given a "run around" with lame excuses, & told he'd "get back to me"-which he never did. I then sent an email that I was told would be printed & given to the owner, but never heard back from him either. Their "pride" in customer service is BS, & definitely cannot be trusted. So if you are ever DUMB enough to go to them for service-you better be SMART enough to ask for your "replaced" parts back!

Nothing but Good Experiences - Dave
I was looking for cars online when I noticed Preston Hoods' poor reviews. I have bought 3 new and 2 used cars from Preston Hood over the years and only have good things to say. All the vehicles were top notch with no major issues. Sure every car and dealer have problems sometimes. More likely than not, some of these reviews were written by unreasonable customers. I support Preston Hood totally until I have a bad experience.
Disappointed - Murphy 1
Had to call 5 times to check on a part that I ordered. Left numerous messages with no call back. I am a loyal customer that will now go to another dealership.
