I dread having to replace my car... going to the dealership, speaking with a sales person I have little trust in, and taking 3 to 4 hours to fill out paper work. However, my experience the past two days has been wonderful. I found the car I wanted online. Called and spoke with Angel. He was great, took the time to send photos, and collect all my documentation before having to meet with him, the paper work was ready to sign when I met Angel. He was professional and courteous, even after an issue that arose with our trade in. I would highly recommend Fox Valley Volkswagen, and Angel.

John Paul is the man to see in service. Not only does he have great soft skills and brings a smile to your face but is super honest and is there to help you out. Their service department is also very laid back and its not stressful at all. The biggest plus is that I was able to get my car serviced even though I was late in normal service hours.
I scheduled my service time at 5pm on a Tuesday which for this dealership is a tight squeeze in time. As I was leaving work headed there, John gave me a call and told me that today may not work as there may not be a tech to work on the vehicle. I was ok with setting another appointment as the issue I had was minor. Then John asked if I was on my way and I said that I was about 25 min away and he said, "Do you know what, I am sure we can get you in today. I will see you at 5pm."
I am sure the other service advisors are just as qualified but im telling you from experience. I have started with John Paul and now im sticking with him.

If there was a way to give NEGATIVE stars I definitely would!!!! This dealership doesn't deserve 1 single star. After endless phone calls trying to get everything figured out before we would have to drive almost 3 hours one way (out of state). The night before we had the financing figured out, vehicle picked out and we were told it would be cleaned and ready for us to sign for the paperwork and leave 20-30 minutes tops once we arrived. Well, 45 minutes away we confirmed that everything is still in place and to ask for our salesman once we arrived. When we arrived the vehicle was "magically sold".no body knows how or why it was sold from under us. After spending 2 hours at this dealership we left with no answers, no vehicle and told ehhh, you're near Chicago so just go out to eat. I'm sorry we have a 2 and 3 year old in the car that have been so good and patient.
We wouldn't drive 3 hours one way to go out to dinner. ABSOLUTELY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! we were told to call back Monday-so like fools we did..nothing has came or been done to resolve this issue. We were promised a gas card...guess what never got that either. Such a joke of a dealership!!!

Elgin VW is a new stand-alone VW dealership which is very conveniently located a quarter mile north of I-90 off Randall Road on Auto Mall Drive. I had visited there in early 2017 for an oil and filter change as well as to check out the dealership. During that visit, I first met Steven Eckhardt, who is the Assistant Service Manager. When the servicing was done, Steve reviewed the work he’d done and indicated that the inspection didn’t reveal any problems.
While the service work was being done, I walked into the very large showroom to look around at new Volkswagens. It was there that I met Jeff Gossage who is a well informed and no pressure sales professional; no pressure is my favorite kind.
By then, I was clearly impressed with Elgin VW. I also knew that a stand-alone dealership would be totally focused on VW with both service and sales.
For 16 December 2017, I’d made an appointment with Jeff to talk about a new 2017 VW Golf Alltrack SEL. Prior to that, my situation was one that I perceived to be difficult because I had a lease on one VW that had several months remaining on it and I wanted to lease a new VW. It not only could be done, it was seamlessly done. The best part was that I got the exact 2017 VW Golf Alltrack SEL with the exact options I wanted. December 23 was the closing on my car. The Finance Manager, John Dubois, made the closing process easy and I was out of his office in less than twenty minutes! So, thank you Jeff Gossage.

Brought my Beetle in for service at 32,000 miles and expected to have a $300 service charge for different maintenance my manual stated I should get. My bill was under $150 and I was told that my vehicle was in great condition. Glenn was extremely helpful and made me feel comfortable.
