had an appointment for 7:30am, arrived 7:20am. after a 15 minute wait car was taken in for an oil change. 2 and 1/2 hours later it was finally ready. I opted not to have car washed because I didn't want to spend over 3 hours for a simple oil change. Tire pressure indicator was also to be checked. service had all 4 tires off the car, I requested the tires to be rotated since the tires were already off the car. They rotated them for me for and additional 29 bucks. I mean "come on". I have bought 3 cars from this dealer, you would think they could have waived the tire rotation charge since the wheels were already off.

Steven Ford was wonderful. Honda should have more employees just like him. He went out of his way to help me understand the differences between the two models that I was choosing and deciding on. He made perfectly sure I know the features of the car I chose. And even if he had another customer, he was very patient in answering all my questions and my worries. Saw a used Honda Civic on their website, and in 1 day I drove off the lot! Service was absolutely fantastic. Mario Castillo walked me through the entire process as this was my first time buying a car. He was knowledgeable on all of the features my car came with and very personable. Once it came time to go into the finance office, I was taken care of by Vince Coronel. He was fantastic! He explained everything that I was signing multiple times for me and made sure I felt comfortable during the whole process. Both gentleman walked me out to my new car and made sure I was all set up with everything so needed. I cannot recommend Ocean Honda of Whittier enough.

I bought a CIVIC this month, the salesperson as a typical salesman told me to write a check as a down payment, I explained to him that the check will have to be put ON-HOLD for 3 days and they agree to it The problem started when they send the check to the bank the following day and this stupidity on their part created a NSF and a fee to my checking account. Well I went the following day to arrange matters (paid $2000 with debit card) and they apologize very nicely and even gave me a voucher for an oil change...I thought that everything was taken care of, but NOOOOOO, the following day I got a text message with threats that I was going to be reported to the District Attorney for check fraud and that I needed to pay another $2000, this type of action is unacceptable from any type of businesses. What's more creepy is that the person that send me the text at around midnight, now I am afraid that these people might use my information for their personal use (Identity Theft). The following Monday I went to settle matters and I got an insufficient apology, kind of a sarcastic approach after all my psychological stress, a written apology was written by Kaumail Mookhi one of the finance managers (see copy below). At this time, I believe that the entire contract was a total rip off, I was charge some type of insurance that was never explained as to the cost, they gave me a verbal amount of $14 extra per month, but after reviewing the contract the monthly cost is $38.25 which is about $2295 as total cost. I believe that this dealer acted on bad faith and deception, I would like to have at least and as a minimum half of my down payment returned. Its dealers like HAMER HONDA that create so much distress and distrust when purchasing a vehicle. I wonder if this deceiving approach is only applied to minorities as I am of Latino origin and that are struggling to make ends meet, if that is the case, than that is called a racist approach.

By far the absolute worst dealer experience I've ever had with Honda. I took my car in for service because it would not start. After leaving it for a few hours I get a call saying I need a new battery, coolant change, rear brakes, and transmission fluid change all coming to over a thousand dollars total. I was told my rear brakes were metal to metal at this point, yet I was not having any issues with them in any way. I was not expecting such a list however I agreed to purchase the new battery and transmission fluid change because it seemed the most urgent. Two days later I bought my rear brakes to have them replaced (not by the dealer) and it turns out they're perfectly fine! I have the shop check my coolant which was said to need replacement which turns out to be total B.S at this point I have doubt in their quality of work so I ask the shop to check the transmission fluid which was supposedly just changed and to my surprise it was dirty! It turns out Honda of Hollywood charged me for a transmission fluid change yet failed to provide the service. At this point this is outrageous! I head over to Culver City Honda to get a second opinion about the quality of my transmission fluid, lo and behold they agreed Honda of Hollywood had in fact not changed my transmission fluid and just ripped me off. I have them state this in writing and head back to Honda of Hollywood to get my money back. I go into the service center to talk to the manager and as I explain the situation he rudely shuts me down stating there is no way to check my transmission fluid because my car does not have a dipstick. Astonishing to think someone in his position might know a thing or two about the vehicles he works with yet has no idea what he is talking about. I then bring my car into the service department for him to inspect with the help of tech. The tech pulls the dipstick from my car and as most people should know new transmission fluid should be quite clear and red while mine was dark brown. To my surprise the tech then says this fluid is still pretty clean -- I'm taken aback by this because this is supposed to be a brand new fluid that had just been changed by them! The Manager said in a snarky tone the best he can do is change the fluid for a “second time” and this time we can watch. By far the most unsatisfactory customer service ever to which I told them I do not want them doing anything to my vehicle and simply want my money back, the manager aggressively responded he will not give me my money back. This is not an empty accusation as two certified auto shops one of them being another Honda dealer confirming my transmission had not been changed. I will never again do business with this location ever again and warn others to stay far away saving time and money. It is unfortunate to say but Honda’s name has been stained and it is people and situations like this that are to blame.

This was by far the easiest and absolute best car buying experience I've ever had. I usually dread visiting car lots and being chased around by dealers, or even worse being ignored because I'm not dressed sharp enough! (I'm talking about you cerritos nissan!) Well this was much different, we got to browse the cars on our own and when we were ready, we were warmly greeted by Frank, our salesman. He pointed out all the great features on the Civic we were considering and then we took it on a test drive. He never tried to talk us into a more expensive model, or adding a bunch of extras, he just let us get the model we wanted and gave us a great price we couldn't refuse. When it came to the paper work, it was smooth sailing and their financing even beat our credit unions interest rate. We were then sent to Art who patiently explained our contracts and additional warranty coverage, and got to watch us sign all of our official documents. He never made us feel like big idiots if we didn't consider additional coverage. (I'm talking to you again cerritos nissan!) We were also congratulated many times by various sales people, including Richard the sales manager. This is a dealership who knows the Honda name sales itself and won't try to pressure you in any way. Therefore I highly recommend Community Honda of Whittier! You rock!!!
