Incredible Service! - mike53222
While traveling to Cleveland the day before Thanksgiving, our Veracruz died on the I90 turnpike in the middle of the night and was towed to Webb Hyundai. James and Rich in the Service Department were absolute lifesavers and made it priority to get us back on the road asap. The repair (a bad alternator) was very reasonable and service was exceptional. Without their help (Nico too), our holiday would have been ruined. Everyone involved went above and beyond and treated us like family. Many many thanks to them all. Webb Hyundai is simply outstanding!!

New car in the shop, needed a loaner - alisonbradley
Dave was friendly, fast, knew I needed a car while mine was being looked at. He hooked me up with loaner even though Service was out of them. He's been a great salesman and I highly recommend asking for him if you're looking to buy or lease a new Hyundai.

Had an issue during my last visit where they try to charge me for a tire rotation that they didn’t perform. I complained and this time they found an excuse to not do the tire rotation. I will not return to this dealer and will not recommend it to anyone
Good, First experience with Dellen Ford Hyundai - CrazyKyle53
I just bought a used 14 Elantra off a lot but was not from here but I ended up taking my car to Dellen cause it was the closest Hyundai shop to me. This was my first time being here. I went in just to get a oil change and have them inspect my brakes cause they was sounding funny when I went to brake them. Dellen took my information and went to work on my car took them maybe half hour to inspect the car, then they came in and hit me with some ok news which I expected. (Bad news the warranty did not cover this part of the car.) They had to rotate all 4 rotors cause they were warped. Now the bad news hit they wanted to charge 110 per axle which was steep considering I really didnt have the extra money to work with, but I decided and told them to do it and they did and it took them maybe 2 and a half hours to rotate my rotors. Not sure why it took them that long considering I thought they was already working on it. The service guy checked in on me a few times and even offered me a ride to the mall or go get some food from one of their drivers. I thanked them for the offer but I would sit in their waiting room. Finally they came in and said my vehicle was ready and after all said and done I was hit with a $287 bill. Which really stung cause I was only hoping to spend maybe 60 on just an oil change and if everything else didnt work out I was hoping the warranty would cover it but didnt so then here I am. Other than my rotors only other problems my car had was it needed all 4 new tires. Overall I was pleased with everything and I will return for my next oil change and hopefully wont get bad news this next time around.
Always great service when I come here! - Jeanne2007
Robert in the service department is awesome to deal with. I bought my car at Skillman Performance Ford and I have always had it serviced there. I would not go anywhere else. They have always gotten it right the first time!
Poor Service - Brooke
We bought a brand new Hyundai Elantra from Bales in Fall of 2012. It was a 2013 model and for the first several months we took it strictly to the dealer for service. It is my car, but we car pool and my husband usually took it in because his work was close to the dealership. On a few occasions it worked out that I had to take the car in. I felt the techs were condescending towards me, but wanted to make sure that I wasn’t imagining things. So the next time it went in my husband and I went together. I made sure not to mention their previous behavior to my husband. While I was talking to the technician he kept referring to my husband when I asked a question. By the time we left my husband was hot under the collar and together we decided not to return to Bales for regular service.
At about 70,000 miles the car began making a very audible clacking noise when first started. Initially the noise would disappear after 5 minutes and the engine was warm. I am religious about oil changes and regular maintenance. I took the car into Bales and explained what was going on and that I suspected a bad bearing or rod. The mechanic had me leave the car with him and kept it for the day. He claimed he couldn’t get the sound to duplicate and that 4 cylinders were naturally a bit loud. At this time he mentioned that if it needed further explanation to have my husband call him. This really torqued me off. In retrospect I should have contacted Hyundai corporate and gotten this taken care of. As time went on the noise and frequency of it increased.
At 97,000 miles I was sure this was not normal 4 cylinder behavior. The noise had become a loud clanking that never desisted, the engine was losing compression, and it felt like the engine was choking. I was certain at this point I either had a cracked head, a bad rod, bad bearing, or something else seriously wrong in the engine. Now, let’s preempt this. While not a mechanic, I am not totally at a loss when dealing with engines. I striped a motorcycle by myself as a teen and put it back together with nothing more than a mechanic’s manual and the tools I dug out of my Dad’s kits. It even ran great except for a sticky throttle and I didn’t have any extra parts after putting it back together. While not a gargantuan feat of repair, this does qualify me as knowing just enough to be dangerous. Contrastingly my husband, while a highly intelligent man, can’t figure out which oil to use in our ride mower. Soooo…. Back to Bales I went.
January of 2016 I take the car into Bales again. I took the day off as I figured they would be at it a while figuring out what was wrong. I explained briefly what was going on and my suspicions, it was obvious the mechanic was barely listening to me. I was in the waiting room maybe 15 minutes when he came back to get me. He stated the car was fine, absolutely perfect. I asked him, “So the fact that engine sounds like a tin can is banging against the hood and the fact I can’t get it to move forward until it is completely warmed up is normal? “ This is where it got interesting and I realized these people are not honest. He proceeded to explain that… “Yes, these cars are loud, that is normal, you were most likely loosing compression because you took the car to Valvoline for oil changes. Our Hyundai oil filters are different than any aftermarket filter you can purchase, they have a special valve that keeps proper compression in the engine. I changed the oil for you, at no charge, everything should be fine now. Have your husband call me if he has any questions.” Did this dude think I was born yesterday? Seriously? I calmly took my keys, thanked him for his honesty, and left.
This time I did contact corporate. They sent me to Hyundai of Louisville after I told them there was no way I was going back to Bales. Hyundai of Louisville gave us a loaner and kept the car for three weeks. Guess what? It was a bad rod, they replaced the engine. Go figure. So please, let ALL your female friends know NOT to go to Bales for ANYTHING! They definitely live up to their "Unbelievable service" slogan.
They Damage my car and Refuse to fix it. - Gina
I wish I had read these reviews before taking my car here. Stay far away as possible. Had to take my car here because the person who was at fault had USAA insurance and this is their preferred provider. They fixed the front of my car fine. But also somehow damaged the sides, and broke off my antenna. They tried to tell me it was like that even though looking at the photos you can see it wasn't. Now I have to take my time and go through small claims court. I will continue to warn as many people as I can to stay away from blossom on shadeland.
Would definitely recommend - Klromoser
Great service staff! She was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend using the service department at the dealership. I have always had an excellent experience.
Hello, all! If you're reading these reviews, I bet... - Josh_M
Hello, all! If you're reading these reviews, I bet you're probably in the market for a new vehicle. Well, I'm not here to tell you if Gates is the place for your new purchase, but I am quite prepared to say you should never try to get a vehicle serviced at this dealership!
I came to Gate and attempted to have my low-mileage, under-warranty vehicle diagnosed for a knocking sound. After a 2.5 hour wait (was told 1 hour, and watched another customer enter, get service, a loaner, and leave before me) a serviceman approached me and outright refused to diagnose the issue, stating their refusal was due to 'snow on the ground', and that I should come back when it's nicer outside. Seriously! As soon as I left their service center and hit the road at 20mph, the knocking was CLEARLY audible! After calling the service center to set a date and time *they* find appropriate, and not being given one, I requested to speak to the floor manager. The gentleman I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful, but said he could not arrange a diagnostic until the following week, which I found unacceptable.
I'm sure their salesman are quite genial and the deals superb, but I would suggest staying away from their service center: they seem selective about who they want to serve and who they do not.
I took my car in to be worked on for a timing chain... - day58
I took my car in to be worked on for a timing chain problem. I was repeatedly told that it would be no problem to fix. I ended up being charged $1,420.00 for a car that came back to me sounding and running exactly the same way it ran and sounded when I took it to them. When I called them the next day after I also found it was leaking oil they told me that it had metal shavings in the oil from waiting too long to get the timing chain fixed and that the car would probably only last another 30 to 40,000 miles. Now why wouldnt you have said that before you decided to charge me $1,420.00 for something that you didnt fix anyway. You are liars, con artists and rip offs. I would never reccomend anyone take their vehicle to gurley leep kia service on grape rd. I should be refunded every dollar I paid you people!
