Back in the summer I called for an appointment to look at strange brown dots in my new Accent's paint. I left work and drove all the way from Winchester to make the appointment. When I get there I'm informed that the guy that handles warranty issues isn't here and they don't know when he'll be back. They could've told me that when I made the appointment. The first guy I saw even acted as if there was nothing wrong with my paint and the second guy could see the problem but couldn't identify the issue. Weeks passed and the warranty guy never showed. I did receive a couple of calls from the service department telling me that they would call when they knew the warranty guy's schedule. After those two calls I never heard from them again. After two months I took my car to Gates Hyundai of Richmond. The problem was quickly identified as rail dust and the next day I was picking my car up free from the brown spots. It's been 4 or 5 months now. Had I not gone to Gates, I would still be waiting.

I showed up without an appointment, not hoping for service, but just hoping they could at least look at the part I need and order it so I don't have to come back twice. They reluctantly told me they would, but then never came out. How rude! I had a my baby in the car too, the other service department is much friendlier.

I was looking over my receipt for the Oil Change I ordered and noticed the work order had been falsified to state I requested a recall be performed. All I can say is, wow, As you recall at the time of the Oil Change, which was the Only Work I Authorized, I stated when I was told you did the recall Without My Authorization that I was appalled and Specifically Stated I Did Not Want the recall done because I was far from home and if something went wrong I wanted to be near my home. I stated this very clearly to Nick and the cashier and my wife was also a third witness. I now look at the Invoice to see it Has Been Falsified. What a shameful and dishonest way to do business. You should be completely disgusted with yourselves. As you may recall, I was quite upset the recall was done Without My Permission and went on an approximate 10 minute rant expressing my displeasure and anger that this work was done Without My Authorization and Without My Permission. I was Not Notified prior to this being done. Had I been told prior I would have Forbid The Work for the reason stated above. To now see the Falsified Invoice Is Disgraceful. There is no other way to say this, you are liars. You falsified documents and have acted in a dishonest and deceitful course of business. Subsequent to your Unauthorized and Illegitimate and Shoddy Work, my automobile experienced problems with the engine. I had to have the recall redone after 1300.00 in repairs, when prior to you touching my car I had no problems with the engine at all. The Only work I hired you for was an Oil Change. Your Unprofessional Conduct betrays your Greedy, Illegitimate work practices and disgusts me and is a disgrace to the fine name of Hyundai. I know, as you will undoubtedly continue to practice business in the Underhanded, Unethical and Unscrupulous manner which seems to come so easily to you, that you will be out of business soon. As you begin to reap the repercussions that will surely follow, remember it was the result of you Falsifying Documents acting Without Customer Consent or Permission and Failing To Take Responsibility for the ensuing costs of your actions.

The ease of making an appointment online was my first clue that this dealership understands their customers' busy lives. That was confirmed when I arrived and was promptly greeted and asked if I wanted the shuttle service to take me somewhere. Even though I work over 20 miles away, their response was, "No problem!" The shuttle driver, Doyle, was a gentleman. The real deal. I enjoyed our brief chat and his courtesy and kindness.
