Dead Battery - Thousand Miles on a New CRV - TBDGUY
Went out to start our new CVR and a dead battery. Honda roadside was great and til me the battery needed to be replaced. Service tech (very nice and professional) After testing the service tech advised battery was ok, so we will see what happens. Was told short trips and lack of use resulted in the dead battery????
Best car on the road and if you don’t put on a lot of miles the battery goes dead ... really!!
Hopefully this is not the first of more issues!

Amazing! - Gc2001
I was just in their with my car right before Christmas and had a great experience like always! I dealt with the same girl I always do and she made the experience memorable! She had a loaner car all ready to go for me and called me when my car was ready to go! Will continue to keep going back because of her!
Quick and easy! - JayS
First time customer. Did the deal over the phone in less than 10 minutes! Pilot was ready when I arrived and was in and out of the dealership in no time. Thanks to Jose, Derrick and Alex for a pleasant and relaxing experience! The deal made over the phone was the deal I received when arriving at the dealership,no bait and switch.I live an hour and a half away and it was well worth the drive. Great overall experience.

It hasn’t even been a year and we already went back to buy another car from Rob and Tony. We wouldn’t go to anyone else. They are so easy to work with. We love our Odessey and Pilot. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a car!
Great experience - Greg P.
When I arrived I was still working out what kind of vehicle I was looking for. George was very helpful, he listened to my needs and helped me look at several choices. He was very knowledgeable on each vehicle and was able answered all my questions.
Sara followed up two days later. I had some more questions and she promptly got the answer I needed.
Iffy, but it all worked out..for now. - Rdrhonda
After being declined to purchase a vehicle due to low credit score (including decades of purchases from this dealership). Sales Rep, Wendy, went to bat & was able to work out a doable deal with her Sales Manager...couple of other Wendy miscues, however, resulted in just a 3-Star Rating. She is a very nice, upfront person.
Had oil, filter, break fluid and wipers replaced on vehicle - Paul
Easy to make an appointment, knowledgeable and friendly staff. The car was ready when the service rep said it would be. Enjoyed the coffee and wifi while I waited.
Great Experience - Frances
Just purchased a new Honda CRV from Duane Carnathan at Waikem. He was a pleasure to work with. He was very knowledgeable and able to find exactly what we wanted. He carefully explained the features of the vehicle and was especially helpful assisting us with unfamiliar ones. The sale was completed in a relatively short time. Overall this may be the best experience we have had purchasing a vehicle.

Ms. Dudley was a spectacular sales person, she did her job. Although I had just made a purchase in December, 2017, Ms. Dudley made me feel comfortable with coming back to the dealership that allowed a vehicle with warped rotors to be sold to a consumer with a child. Ms. Dudley helped me to not place blame and move on with a vehicle with a warranty.
Great group of people! - Teeferg09

Deal with the devil - Miked86
I purchased my 2014 Honda Civic from Great Lakes Honda in July 2017. It was purchased as a certified preowned vehicle. After I bought it, I noticed it was leaking water from under the dash on the driver side. I took it to Serra (park) auto and they couldn’t determine what it was and we all basically chalked it up as it was from the air conditioner. It’s not been a year since this and about 2 months ago, every light on the dashboard that could come on, came on. I took it to Serra Honda and they replaced a sensor in it and it worked great for about a month. Well at the end of October, it did the same with. I took it in and started dealing with John in service. They looked at it and called me and determined they couldn’t figure out what the issue was, whatever it was saying it was kept shooting different codes after it was fixed. They then had a Honda engineer come down to figure it out. Well it was determined that my windshield had been leaking for that whole year, because when Great Lakes put the new windshield in before I even purchased my car, they didn’t put a certified Honda windshield in and the seal wasn’t done correctly. So this caused an issue with 2 wiring harnesses that corroded. John let me know the bad news of my warranty not covering it because it wasn’t a manufacturer defect. I called Great Lakes and let them know what happened and I was told “I don’t know what to tell you, this isn’t our problem”. I was at a loss. I had no idea what to do with the repairs costing about $3,400 to repair because of the placement of the wires and harnesses. John has been there every step of the way. Letting me know my options, helping me determine what to do. Giving me advice and saying what I could do as far as getting it fixed. He has kept me in a rental car this entire month it has been in the shop because of how long this process has been and has never tried to take it back without giving me another rental. He has been so helpful and so HONEST!!!! You don’t find that very often in a dealership anymore. I am so thankful to him that he did this for me and helped me thru this and thanks to him I get my car back tomorrow! I will be following a lawsuit against Great Lakes for falsifying a certified preowned vehicle since it should have not been sold as one without certified Honda parts! Thank you again John and all your hard work and patience with us!
Beware of Service Supervisor Jim Klotz behaved unethically - Kavaness
On August 11, 2018 I brought my car for presell mechanical checkup to service department. My costumer scheduled the service closer to my house by my request. The car was Honda Civic SI 2007 with Navigation System and only 35,300 miles. I did evaluate the car on Bluebook as at good condition to be sold as trade in average $7500 or as private sell at over $9500. My customer agreed to pay $9000 after checkup was performed and was ready to close the deal when Service Supervisor Jim Klotz pulled my customer into a private room and told him that the car worth a lot less. It was solely his initiative to break the sell of my car because he was not asked to evaluate the car. That was my first customer who fist drove the car on Wednesday and asked to keep it till Saturday for us to be able to meet at Honda dealer for mechanical presell checkup. I had couple of other calls, but I asked those callers to contact me Saturday afternoon just in case the car is still available.
As the sell fell because of the interference of Jim Klotz, the car was sold to another buyer for exactly the same amount of money $9000 in less than an hour.
WILL NEVER EVER AGAIN USE THIS DEALLER FOR ANY SERVICE NEEDS!!!
Great Buying Experience - gsmcdonald
Great car buying experience. My daughter just bought her first new car, upgrading from the Honda Fit I bought her 9 years and 172K miles ago, to a 2018 Honda Civic.
I did all my pricing work online to find the best deal and had intended on buying at a dealership closer to where I live. We went to Jack Matia just to test drive the car since it is close to my daughter's work. There we met Pat, who was as nice as could be. We drove 2 different vehicles and left to try a couple Subarus out. No pressure, got a quick quote on the trade, and went on our way.
The next day she made the decision to buy the Civic and Pat arranged for the specific car and color to be brought to their dealership and a time for her to come in and go through the painful buying paperwork. However, it wasn't bad at all! The finance guy tried to upsell her on the extend warranty, and a few other ups, adds, and extras, but my daughter politely told him no (as we had role played) and she got in and out with the deal we expected, financed at the rate we had hoped for.
Total time: less than an hour, during which time I had several beverages from their tasty coffee machine, but couldn't find the 'fresh fruit' they had promoted. No biggie on the fruit. I was just happy my daughter got what she wanted and didn't get harassed in the process.
Don't get Car Doc service! - Tired of dealing with them
Dealership doesn't honor terms of agreement. i.e. won' replace brakes unless they're totally worn out! They do not track your service so it is up to you to make sure the service agreement is fulfilled (poor customer service).
Great, honest, reliable staff!! - Bonita
I was very blessed to have dealt recently with Pruitt Honda, and was able to get a very nice, affordable 2015 Honda Civic! I would like to truly thank Rachael (finance), Abigail, James, Havarre, and the rest of the staff involved with the processing of my car! I love it, and it really saves on gas quite a lot!! I thank them also for being patient, understanding of my needs and to put me in a very affordable, great economic car! This is where I would recommend anyone looking for a good reliable car, SUV, etc. Once again, thank you so very much!
Did very costly service timing belt replacement ($1400). ... - dcking
Did very costly service timing belt replacement ($1400). Did not (or could not) provide the worn parts when I asked for them. This is a clear violation of Ohio State law - pursuing a formal complaint with the Ohio Attorney General. The dealer I bought the car said they talked to Victory Service Mgr and Victory said the belt was Ok. Victory mgr called them a liar. Victory service was rude. Intrinsically dishonest. Operate blatantly outside the law.
