Jeff Taylor was great he wasn't pushy and allowed me to take my time. He answered all the questions I had about the car I wanted and showed me the cars that had exactly what I needed. Beware of trade in value deals with this dealership, they are false advertisements. I traded my 2020 Sonata a few months ago for 2024 Kona N-Line AWD. The deal was worked out through a sales manager great are false advertisements. I traded my 2020 Sonata a few months ago for 2024 Kona N-Line AWD. The deal was worked out through a sales manager great guy and very helpful. All dealerships have some miscommunication and false information. Elgin Hyundai was false advertisement for trade in value on vehicles. On the website there were information stated the dealership would give $5000 over KBB pricing. My 2020 Sonata was around $15,000 at most dealerships but 17,500 with Carvana and 15,548 at KBB. I owed 18,000 on my Sonata and was looking to trade, but not carry over any money. Elgin Hyundai best offer was $1600 even though the add stated 5000 over KBB value. I ask about the web page advertising with three different Elgin personnel and received three different answers. The most disappointing part of the deal along with not honoring the advertising, three weeks later they listed my Sonata SEL for resale for $19,991 on their website. Also, part of my deal was weather tech car mats for the Kona, its 1/2024 and I still haven’t received my car mats. Hopefully, they honor this part of my new car purchase. 2024 Kona – If you’re considering this car it’s horrible on gas. 24-26 highway less city More
The experience we had was a joke. Immediately when they call it's 'oh there's an issue with our pricing on the website and we're working on it, that car is actually $27,700 (listed on their website and Car Gurus for $25,814). So I wouldn't even bother wasting your time or letting them try to take advantage of you. More
Called and set up an appointment to see a used car they had advertised on the internet. When we got there, what do you know, the car was not available because it couldn't be certified. This was good inform had advertised on the internet. When we got there, what do you know, the car was not available because it couldn't be certified. This was good information we could have known before we drove the 30 miles each way to see it. It would be helpful if the person making appointments knew what vehicles were actually for sale. Salesman tried to sell us some other junk from the inventory but I would hesitate to buy from them after what I felt was a bait and switch. 2 stars because the salesman was nice and professional. I would also like to note in addition to my previous review they like to respond here saying to reach out but it's all for appearances as when you do respond to them they have absolutely zero follow up. review they like to respond here saying to reach out but it's all for appearances as when you do respond to them they have absolutely zero follow up. Worst car buying experience ever. Took my daughter in to buy her first car after seeing a Certified 2023 Santa Fe SEL AWD advertised online on 6/16/23. After test driving and sittin Took my daughter in to buy her first car after seeing a Certified 2023 Santa Fe SEL AWD advertised online on 6/16/23. After test driving and sitting down to discuss numbers, the price skyrockets like $10,000. Adding in all kinds of extra junk that we don’t want like a couple of thousand to shampoo the carpets and sanitize the interior. But what really got me was that they were charging me for Certification. They advertised the car as “Certified”, and then they want me to pay for it. We went back and forth and I told them I was not going to pay for it. They finally agreed to remove it and we have our price. Then they make us sit and wait for the finance guy for over two hours. After all that, we find out that the car seems to only have one key fob. The salesman tells me this happens often and it’s probably in the Service Department somewhere…they will look for it and let us know when it shows up. Of course it does not and then they want me to pay for the second fob. I find a Hyundai document on the web that is the official checklist they use to “Certify” a used vehicle and it clearly shows on line #66 there must be two remotes. I send this document to the salesman and tell him they need to provide the fob, but he says the manager will not do it because we did not “pay” for the certification. Remember they advertised the car as “Certified”. How did it get certified without two fobs? The Hyundai checklist document also says that all items must be completed, signed by a responsible person, and a copy of the checklist saved in the vehicle’s service history file. The salesman felt bad but said it was all up to the manager and he would not cover the cost of the fob (over $600 to buy it from them and have it programmed). Stay away from this place!! More
Where to even begin. If I could give negative stars on how this dealership operates and treats customers, I would. To start I purchased a used 2017 vehicle which was advertised online as certified and told to me was certified as they also added a certification fee to which I later found out was completely untrue, they are saying the certification fee added was for the 100k powertrain warranty(we were told this warranty carried over to us not that we purchased it). I also had to bring it to the nearest dealership to check it over since something felt off while driving and I was shocked to hear that just 3 weeks after having the vehicle it was unsafe to drive without a repair. Then come to find after trying to figure this out with the manager that the car had a newly manufactured engine replacement which was never once reported or disclosed to us in any way both after we asked what things were done to the car in terms of service and it was also never listed on the Carfax. A week after purchase we had to bring it back for a detailing appt, they had the car for 6 hours and it still was dirty in several areas and not properly detailed and once we returned home discovered they didn't put the mats back into the car that I had purchased myself. It took weeks to get this resolved and have them shipped to me as I live nowhere near the dealership but not before the salesman called and basically told me I needed to give a 5 star google review for him and his manager so he could ship my own mats back to me! All I've asked is the certification fee to be refunded to me as well as the 100k powertrain warranty to be honored as we were lied to and told it was something that we had and how the car was clearly not certified. The manager has offered to just take the car back and try to give me another and once I provided proof of what we were lied to about said he could no longer help me further to make this right. More
