I called Katie, who had texted me when I showed interest online. We, my wife and I met Katie the sales lady at the dealership. No waiting. Test drove 2 vehicles and decided on 1. In a couple of hours we had online. We, my wife and I met Katie the sales lady at the dealership. No waiting. Test drove 2 vehicles and decided on 1. In a couple of hours we had a vehicle. Not real crazy about the salesman who tried to sell us all the other stuff, but I guess that is his job. All and all a good experience More

Katie and My Auto Subaru exceeded expectations (unlike Fox) You could definitely call us a "Subaru family." This was the fourth Subaru we purchased since 2012 and, interestingly, I have purchased each Subaru a You could definitely call us a "Subaru family." This was the fourth Subaru we purchased since 2012 and, interestingly, I have purchased each Subaru at a different dealership: Outback (Colorado), Forester (Maple Hill), Outback (Fox Subaru), and Ascent (My Auto Subaru). My parents and my in-laws each own a Subaru Crosstrek (Boulder, Colorado) and Forester (Fox Subaru). Anyway, I only say all this because I'm loyal to Subaru and have some experience with various Subaru dealerships. Regarding Katie at My Subaru, she was, hands down, the best we have worked with at any of the above-mentioned dealerships. I actually reached out to her because someone else provided a positive review. We live in Grand Rapids, so naturally we were initially inclined to go with Fox Subaru, especially since I purchased my 2019 Outback there less than two years ago. Last week we were in the market for two new Subarus -- an Ascent or Forester for my wife, and a Forester for my mother-in-law. I contacted Subaru dealerships between Lansing and Indiana. Some were a bit coy (that's part of the process, I get it) with what they would offer for our two trade-ins and about pricing for the new cars. Others (Fox Subaru) offered significantly less money for both of our trade-ins (more on that later) and asked more for the two new cars. But Katie (and her team, I assume) looked at the photos we sent her of each car, as well as the VIN and other information, and offered us what we believed to be generous offers for our trade-ins. This helped us trust her instantly. The next day we made the drive to Muskegon to visit Katie in person at My Auto Subaru, still not exactly sure what to expect. Because of COVID-19, inventory is really low right now, so Katie (and other dealerships) had a difficult time finding what we wanted - we already knew exactly which colors and options packages we wanted for the Ascent and the Forester. But before we arrived at My Subaru, Katie found two Ascents she said she could work to get in and we knew we would have to wait for the Subaru to arrive in the next few weeks. This news didn't surprise me based on my research. What did surprise me, however, is she went above and beyond to help meet our needs. She suggested we consider a certified pre-owned 2020 Ascent, which had exactly what we were looking for. I have to admit, it hadn't even crossed my mind. Long story short, my wife and I ended up purchasing the certified pre-owned 2020 Ascent (which was a "loaner" car for the dealership), and my mother-in-law purchased a 2020 Forester, which will arrive in a few weeks. As promised, a small bit about Fox Subaru. I rarely, if ever, write negative reviews. But I feel my story is important if you're debating about which dealership to choose. I purchased my 2019 Outback from a sales representative at Fox in December of 2018. We had a good experience. So, now that we were in the market for a new Ascent and a new Forester, I almost took it for granted that we would purchase them from Fox (and from the same sales person, who is still there). I contacted this sales representative at Fox before contacting Katie at My Subaru. I told her exactly what we were looking for and provided her the same information I gave Katie about our two trade-ins. Long story short, the offers Fox made were so far off from what Katie was willing to do in her initial offer - both in terms of trade-in and pricing for the new cars - that I didn't find it worthwhile to make a counter offer. I certainly didn't expect to receive "special treatment," but I must admit I was taken aback, especially considering I purchased my 2019 Outback at Fox less than two years ago, was looking to purchase two new Subarus (Ascent and Forester) this time around, and service both my Outback and my wife's Forester at Fox. I guess I (naively) believed Fox would value a loyal, repeat customer and at least engage with what we perceived to be a good-faith initial offer. Finally, when the Fox sales representative sent me a follow-up email asking if we would accept her offer, I decided to respond to her and copy both the sales manager and the division manager, just to offer my feedback about the process and why we didn't choose Fox. So, I sent what I thought was a polite email explaining what happened, noting that we weren't upset, just disappointed that Fox seemed not to value a loyal customer. The kicker? Nobody even took the time to respond. Therefore, I can only assume Fox Subaru has enough business and is happy with where they rank among other dealerships. It seems as though they take Grand Rapids customers for granted, since they are the "only game in town." But they're not. Muskegon isn't that far. In fact, we had a great experience at Maple Hill when we purchased a Forester there in 2017. But about Katie, she definitely earned some loyal customers after how she worked so well with us. Thank you. More
