"Purchase of Certified Used Vehicle"

I was just starting the process of looking and lightly used vehicles to replace and older Cadillac SUV. I stopped at Steve Foley based on vehicle posted to its internet site. Jim Mazzetti greeted me as I entered and inquired about our interest and readily proceeded to identify vehicles that meet our focus. He helped us understand the similarities and difference that enabled us to quickly narrow down where to devote our time and efforts. After good test drives and with professional insight from Jim we made a good decision and left later that day with a vehicle that fully satisfied our needs and desires. Thank you, Jim! Separately, a key reason we started our search at Steve Foley was the help and guidance we have received from Marcell with service on Cadillac we owned for 10 years. Marcell saw to it that our car was serviced fully and on a timely basis. We appreciated his care and interest in our service needs.

"Service department is a joke"

BE AWARE I took my car there on the 8th after hearing some weird noise from my engine. Obviously without an appointment, no one will wait for an appointment when they hear engine noise with a 9k miles car. They gave me the (do you have an appointment face), obviously not. Not gonna wait for the engine to blow up until the appointment day. They asked to drop it off, I'm like okay. Of course they no loaner and no shuttle over 5miles. (Even tho it's an $82k car) I wait until the next day, no call. I call them, they say there's something broke inside the engine and they need to take the engine apart. I ask how long will that take and what's the latest it will be done. They said by the end of the week, I'm like okay. I call the next day the 10th, what's going on? "We still opening the head of the engine" okay. I call the next day the 11th. Same thing. I call on the 12th "we took the engine apart and something broke and now we have to order some parts. Okay. I call the next day the 13th "some parts are back ordered and we are trying to find another dealership that has them" okay. I call Monday the 15th, what happened? "The parts came missing we have to wait another day" okay I call the next day the 16th "the mechanic that's working on your car has a family emergency and didn't show up today" I call the 17th "we are working on your car, I'm like okay that's it im calling GM now. I called GM, they contacted the dealership, no help. I call on the 18th, "we tried to rush the car and we did something wrong with the timing and now we have to open the whole thing again" I call on the 19th "your car should be done around 3PM" Now I'm happy and decided to stay home, since i live on the North suburbs. I call at 3 and leave a voicemail, nothing I call at 4 and leave a voicemail, nothing I finally got a call at 5PM saying the car is done. I go pick it up, after 2 weeks of waiting. All good. 2 days later the lifters are making noise. Because they are not timed right and need adjustment. Obviously I'm not taking it back there. Btw when i asked why is this taking so long "sir we are running a whole dealership here we can't just work on your car, your car needs 23 hours labor" I left the car there for 240 HOURS!! What a joke! Never going back there again. Unprofessional, unorganized. I could've got the car done in less than 3 days with my mechanic. Don't trust them with mechanic problems, all they can do is change oil and rotate tires lol

Hi Anas, We apologize for the length of time it took to repair your Escalade ESV which you own for commercial use as a limousine service and which you did not purchase from us. The parts were on back order at GM. We cannot control the GM parts inventory. You mention that your mechanic could have fixed it in 3 days. Well, your mechanic would have to use non-GM parts (since the GM parts were not available) and your mechanic could not cover the repairs under warranty as warranty work can only be done by an authorized dealer. The work was completed by our dealership and the $4500 cost was covered under warranty. We understand the frustration especially since the vehicle is for commercial use and we are not permitted to provide a loaner when work is being done on a commercial vehicle. We are not permitted to have our loaners used for limo service for obvious reasons. This was a big engine job that we accepted when our service department was very busy with already scheduled jobs. Unfortunately we do not make the cars and we cannot control GM parts inventory. When a part is on back order, we have to wait for it to be fulfilled. In this instance, it was just very unfortunate that the needed parts were not available from GM; however, once the parts were available, all of the parts and labor were covered under warranty.

We have bought several new and used vehicles from Steve Foley Cadillac over the past 25 years, and I would recommend them to anyone. Richard Schabel has always been helpful, honest and has never pressured us into buying something that we really didn't want. In the past year, we have leased a new vehicle, and purchased a used one. Each time the processes was easy, quick and done on our schedule. We wouldn't go anywhere else to purchase a vehicle. As for the service - above and beyond the call of duty. We highly recommend Richard as a salesman - go see him, you won't be disappointed.
