"Dirty Dealership with Scam practices"
UNPROFESSIONAL AND INEXPERIENCED STAFF WHO TREATED ME WITH NO RESPECT WHATSOEVER AFTER THEIR MISTAKE. CALLED ME A xxxxx FOR PROTECTING MYSELF.
This review is about the following employees I dealt with, I'm going to break this review down so it is clear why I am an extremely upset consumer:
Brad: Pleasant attitude and set up my appt to test the car.
Elijah: Inexperienced salesman who needs more training and communication skills.
Josh: Finance guy who seemed to not enjoy his job and pushed papers at me to sign. Tapped his pen like I was taking up too much time of his.
Sebastian: "Director" of Finance - CALLED ME A xxxxx FROM THE START TO MY BANK AGENT; THOUGHT HE HUNG UP AND MY HUSBAND HEARD HIM TALKING TRASH ABOUT ME AND MY BANK AGENT.
Mike: GM who was able to explain in a professional manner and resolve the issue.
I will start off by saying I financed through my bank not Gary Lang, which Elijah kept pushing me to finance through them. I guess this is why Sebastian told the man at my bank I was a "xxxxx from the start". When I plan on making a huge purchase I will not allow anyone to take advantage of me, so yes if you call that being a xxxxx. And not sure how he could even call me that having no interaction with me in the beginning, maybe Elijah said that to him about me?...
Moving on, I agreed to a price Elijah set in front of me. I had a brand new car took some pictures of it and went on to sign papers with Josh leaving with the signed bill of sale signed by both parties. They could not give me the car that night because it had to be tagged or whatever he said. I came in the following day with a check from my bank and handed it to the cashier. The check was written over to cover the balance left over from my trade in. She did not question why it was over just took it and handed me a receipt. I was questioned about the title and being a customer, I assumed my bank would arrange to give them the title, why would I have it? They gave me the new car and I was on my way. Keep in mind the bill of sale was signed the day prior.
Here's the problem: Gary Lang's lack of experienced staff (SEBASTIAN & ELIJAH) did not call my bank prior to giving me a bill of sale to check on my payoff amount(they waited 6 days after the sale). They failed to include that amount in the final figure and wanted more money from me which I refuse to pay.
Instead of calling me and apologizing for THEIR HUGE mistake they blame my bank and ME for this error! During my conversation with Sebastian he mocked me, spoke down to me and laughed throughout our conversation. I am still in complete shock GARY LANG would hire such an immature individual to handle their financing. It's really very scary.
This entire situation could have gone another route had they treated me with dignity and respect. I have spent 7 days stressed feeling like i'm playing xxxxxx in the middle. Ultimately, legally the car is mine, because they made a mistake in THEIR numbers and did not call my bank prior to finalizing the sale, I should NOT have to feel in the wrong. THAT IS YOUR JOB GARY LANG, I DO NOT WORK FOR YOU AND NEITHER DOES MY BANK!!!!!!!!!! HIRE NEW PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!
In the end of this fiasco, I have my old car back and they have theirs. I was fortunate to meet with Marco at Piemonte Chevy in Dundee. He sat me in his office in shock at how I was treated by Gary Lang. Marco pulled the invoice through their car system and showed all their mistakes and agreed they were 100% IN THE WRONG. What mattered most to me was how transparent and personable he was. Knowing what I had just been through he was there to give me advice rather than sell me car.
I will never recommend anyone go to Gary Lang, I can't even stand the sight of the name and thankfully do not live in McHenry, so will never have to pass that dealership again. I am filing complaints with the BBB and Attorney General for the trouble and behavior I encountered during this experience. PLEASE GARY LANG REMEMBER YOU ARE A BUSINESS AND WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS WHO SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH.

"My truck didn’t even make it home"
If I could give 0 stars, I would. We purchased a 2011 Cadillac Escalade from this dealership. We drove about 200 miles up there to purchase it. On the way home, the truck died going up ramp. Got out and it was leaking transmission fluid everywhere. We were still about 3 hours from home and it was a Saturday. Called the dealership and they told us the repairs were on us. Called a family member and had them tow us home. Found out later, that in Illinois there is a state law that a vehicle under 150,000 miles (which this was) MUST make it 500 miles or 15 days. If it doesn't it is on the dealership to repair. Reluctantly they agreed to fix it, but we were responsible for towing it the roughly 200 miles up there. This was after we were told to try and repair it ourselves. Short story we just ended up selling it back to them, but I'm still out time, parts, towing, etc. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
"Zero customer service"
After agreeing to purchase we were told that 2nd key was missing. After two weeks of lies (it’s in the mail!) and excuses still no key. The General Manager doesn’t even return calls. Had to go to another dealer to get a key made. Looking forward to the fight with them to be reimbursed.
