It’s hard to believe that racists like mike are still in positions of authority in this day and age, well then again it’s not so hard to believe. Mike made me feel extremely uncomfortable and not welcome. Mike acted as if a person of color was not permitted to purchase a high end luxury vehicle on his watch. I had to provide unusual amounts of documentation to mike which after speaking to a rep from the bank I found out was not even requested by them as I has excellent credit. Mike required this additional information for his own satisfaction/ racial profiling. When I visited the dealership I made the mistake of wearing a tracksuit,tennis shoes, and a ball cap which in no way should diminish the fact that I am a college educated professional with gainful employment and top tier credit. I’m writing this review in hopes that Mike will learn not to judge a book by its cover and to treat others equally!. I also would encourage my fellow minority’s to avoid doing business with this guy at all costs.
We are terribly sorry for your negative experience here. It is very concerning to us that you feel that race was an issue in your experience. I can assure you that we do not request additional information from anyone based on race or gender. From time to time, some finance companies request additional information and it could be for a host of reasons but race is not one of them. Oh believe me It wasn’t just his requests that were out of line with the norm, it was his overall demeanor in the way he treated me and overall lack of empathy in the situation. He was extremely nasty with racist undertones and I’m sure management was aware of the situation because management frantically tried to backtrack to get me not to leave. Your attempts are too little too late. If Jim Coleman cared Mike King would have been properly trained prior to being put in a position to serve clientele. I was born and raised in Clarksville and had never had an experience such as the one I hade at Jim Coleman. Now in closing I ask that you refrain from contacting/harassing me. I would never come back to your unsavory dealership. I shared my experience solely to inform other minority’s that might come in contact with Mr.King how I was treated so they can have the opportunity to make an informed decision on weather or not to support racism in 2019.
