The car I purchased is pre-owned. Listed for sale on several websites (I found it on Cars.com), as well as the dealership’s website. Having experience of 12 years working in a dealers Listed for sale on several websites (I found it on Cars.com), as well as the dealership’s website. Having experience of 12 years working in a dealership, I know a car isn’t supposed to be cleared for sale and listed until it’s been inspected and passed safety inspection. Two days prior to my appointment to test drive this vehicle I asked question regarding different maintenance items on the vehicle, specifically the transmission, as well as regular maintenance. I was told that as part of the inspection cars undergo regular maintenance when they arrive and are inspected. And that this car was labeled as “Front line” (which means it’s ready for sale and has been inspected). The person I spoke with to set up the test drive appointment even walked over to speak to the service manager regarding my concerns with the transmission. With this interaction having taken place, a servicing conversation regarding this vehicle, you’d think the safety inspection had been performed. Someone, between now two employees (one being the service manager), you’d think someone would have noticed the safety inspection had NOT been done. But, no, this was overlooked until I was half way to the dealership (a three hour commute). Two days after my appointment was set and I’m half way to Wisconsin to this dealership, I get a phone call from the salesman that is assigned to my appointment for test drive and possible sale. Introducing himself and to ask me if I’m looking for this specific car, or one in this price range. I reply THIS specific car. He tells me then he has to go out and check the inventory, and put his hands on the car as he didn’t know anything of the car. I ask him to call me back since I’m already on my way, and I wanted to know if the vehicle is actually in inventory. He calls back but the car apparent has NOT been inspected. And the car cannot be test driven unless passing safety inspection. I told him I was told it had been, and is listed for sale on several websites. As well as I was coming in after work this day because I was told that another interested party was coming to test drive the same vehicle the next day, which is why I was coming in the middle of the week and not the weekend. This distance was far too long for after work, but I was coming to beat someone else. I received 6 calls during the remaining hour and a half trip to the dealership from the salesman stating the car had NOT passed safety inspection and they were hurriedly trying to get parts necessary in order for the vehicle to be deemed safe for test drive. Upon arrival, it was not ready. And waited for hours for it to be so. After being rushed to the bank to get a cashiers check for the purchase (still not even having test driven the vehicle), at 6:30pm I was told a substantial bolt had broken during the process of trying to change out parts (brakes, stunts, rotors, pads, etc) and they were unable to finish the repairs that evening. So check in hand (for a simple test drive) and three hours from home we were asked to go home empty handed. With the promise and a handshake that the work would be guaranteed (by Leon, a sales manager) and the assurance that the service was not rushed and they stand behind the quality of the work done. I was told by Leon he would call me the next day to give me status of the vehicle but they would hold it for me. The next day I didn’t hear from Leon, nor Sterling (the salesperson), so at 5pm I called the dealership and find out neither Leon or Sterling were in that day at all. At that point as was offered to speak to a manager whom was there and knew of the situation, I was transferred, but it went to voicemail. The only person who was a pleasure to work with was Drake, I believe he was sent in because he’s the best personable one they have there. The rest were worthless. AND even after the sale, on the drive home, the headlight was inoperable. So much for guaranteed service and safety inspection. More

Eric P. was responsive and courteous in his interactions. He had several customers he was managing and politely asked if I would mind waiting briefly. He was was responsive and courteous in his interactions. He had several customers he was managing and politely asked if I would mind waiting briefly. He was zipping around helping as many people that came through the front door, sometimes to a fault when other (customer service agents) were not busy and could have helped them. He was attentive asking if I needed any water or coffee throughout my car buying experience. It was nice with the whole staff from Eric to Stuart (Sales Manager) to Chris (Finance Manager) were accommodating and helpful. This is what I needed as I drove from Madison to this Chevy dealership (80 miles)and appreciate the customer care, personalized attention, and focus on meeting my car needs. What is awesome about Eric is that he was working after hours to fix a situation that happened during the car buying experience and needed additionally information from me. He did all the work and just asked me to give him a few answers. While it was not convenient to drive to another city when there are two large Chevy dealerships in my town (Bergstrom and Zimbrick), I chose to come here because they had the car I wanted, treated me as a customer and developed a relationship where I felt valued and worked with me to get me in the car of my choice. I had been to dealers in my town and did not feel as though my needs were addressed and glad I took the opportunity to come to Andrew Chevrolet and work with Eric and the amazing staff there. I highly recommend anyone looking for a good dealership with personable staff and quality customer care to come here for your next car. More
