Absolutely horrible company. Avoid at all costs. Jack and John are liars and scammers. They refuse to answer direct simple questions and when you push them for an answer they will stop responding or will just be rude and dodge the question again. Bought a truck Jan 18th from them. I'm still dealing with these unprofessional snakes. I've filed complaints with Better business bureau, consumer affairs, the attorney general of NY and am currently awaiting my court date because I'm being forced to take them to small claims court in order to get them to honor the contract they signed. The short version is they talked me into a warranty that was 100% money back if cancelled within 30 days. After buying the truck I went to get the radio fixed as the screen was delaminating and I found out that anything AV or entertainment related isn't covered. Now mind you I asked Jack specifically if this was covered and he assured me it was. This was a "bumper to bumper covers everything warranty". Not only is almost nothing covered but since the truck I bought had a lift kit on it, it made the whole truck ineligible! $3,950.00 for a warranty that I can't in any way use. I will assume responsibility for not reading the fine print but they absolutely pushed this warranty they knew I couldn't use. Luckily I found all this out before my 30 days was up. I contacted them and requested cancellation. They said it's not an overnight process and it will take some time. I said it was fine but I'm giving you notice now that I want it canceled and expect my full refund as stated in the contract. Then nothing from them. They stopped taking my calls, stopped responding to texts. When I did get an answer from them it contained no information and was told at one point to stop bothering them. Well if you want them to do anything you need to bother them everyday to maybe get them to do their job. I requested cancellation feb 15. My warranty wasn't cancelled until April 1st. It is now May 20th and I've yet to see a refund to my account. They assure me the check has been sent but refuse to tell me if it was the full amount. I've now been told they will not communicate with me any further. These people are the worst type of people in every sense. STAY AWAY! This is only the biggest issue I've had with them. I also had to fight with them to get it registered because they charged me saying it's a "service they provide" but couldn't get it done in the timeframe MA gives you. Had to leave my truck parked for 13 days until I got the title from them so I could register it myself. Then had to fight to get my registration fee I paid them of $350 refunded since they didn't do anything but screw the process up. The truck wasn't ready to be seen when I showed up even though I called the day before. I waited 1.5 hours before I could test drive it. Even after waiting the truck was still dirty inside and out and I had to clear the snow off the bed of the truck so I could see the condition. The last two are small things but still stuff any decent dealership wouldn't tolerate. Please don't make my mistake, take your business literally anywhere else.
I first inquired about a car similar to mine which was totaled. The receptionist called me everyday to set up an appointment even though I explained to her how far this place was and my work schedule won’t allow me to come during the week. This dealership being almost a hour away I couldn’t make the hour long trek after work and it still be open. So on my day off from work I made a 51 min. Trek from NYC area to see the car. Jack Lev has to be one of the worst salesman in this industry hands down. As soon as I told I didn’t need financing things took a turn, the price of the car went from as advertised $31,995 to $35,500. If you have your own bank or plan to buy cash I suggest stay away, they want to run your credit with the banks they get the most kickbacks from. I was on a test drive and the woman who took me told me herself I should take advantage of the price using their finance then refinance to my bank or pay it off if I want the car. I was still willing to make a deal since I didn’t hear from Jack Lev about the car after I left. Due to a lack of communication I reached out to John Kikis, we negotiated pricing he sent me a bill of sale which I contacted my bank to ready a bank check to acquire the vehicle. I called John Kikis to tell him my bank is sending a certified check but it’s delayed due to it being a short week due to holiday, he said fine he would have Jack Lev contact me since he hasn’t been at the dealership for some days. I received a call around 8:30pm from Jack Lev telling me that the car has been sold, he then moronically offered me a similar car that of a lesser model with 30k more miles than the one I had a check for. What he called a “great deal” $5k less than the one I was to buy. Very unprofessional customer service on Jack Lev end from the beginning. Stay away from this place and further away from Jack Lev.
3 months having my car problems already, plus was promise touch up never happen. Manager is a xxxxxxxx artest. The car sales industry needs a cleanup
Our experience with Smith Haven Auto Group was to say it best, "Bitter-Sweet". For months we have been searching for a specific preowned work vehicle with low miles and within our budget. We felt that a Certified pre-owned would be the closest we can get to purchasing a new vehicle. We finally came across exactly what we looking for at Smith Haven.com and rushed on down to look at it. From first sight, It was perfect. We took a test drive and we knew this was the truck we wanted. Our salesman was a true pleasure to work with answered all our questions and even brought the vehicle to our own mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection, very sweet ! Now, remember I said Bitter-Sweet, here comes the Bitter part. The mechanic advised me that the truck looks and performed fine except the engine oil pan was so badly rusted it was just a matter of time before it let go. Meaning total oil loss causing inevitable engine failure. But we are talking about a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle here, so this should surely be taken care of by Smith Haven right? WRONG!!!! When we advised our salesman of the problem he brought the matter to the attention of his management team who refused to replace the oil pan. I counter offered with paying half the expenses and still it was rejected by management. Fully knowing of this problem even before selling this vehicle Smith Haven Auto Group ignored a blatantly obvious and critical engine problem and continued to advertise this vehicle for resales as a Certified Pre-Owned. So what good is this Rigorous 125 Point Inspection, perhaps it was a 125-point cosmetic inspection because I'll tell you, the truck looked fantastic! However, if If it weren't for needing this vehicle for business reasons we would have walked away. But during a time where everything was so challenging already we needed to move forward with the purchase and brunt to cost of replacing the pan since it was obviously not covered under warranty. Long story short, within 6 miles after taking possession of the vehicle the oil pan ruptured and we lost oil. Thankfully it happened when the truck was sitting in our driveway and we suffered no engine damage. But we did reach out to Smith Haven and we did make a plea for some kind of help with this matter since we didn't even have the vehicle 5 hours and we did report the problem to them prior to the purchase. We expected some compassion maybe, we expected some understanding, we expected this dealership to step up and make a difference. Instead we were just stepped on. They simply told us "you bought it like that and we wont help you". So if your thinking about a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle at Smith Haven be sure to rethink that choice. Caveat Emptor!
I usually don’t write reviews but my experience here was so phenomenal that I just had to share. As a first time buyer I was overwhelmed and anxious. I visited other dealerships before coming to Smith Haven 112 and they seemed to be uninterested in helping me. Upon arrival at Smith Haven 112 I was greeted but their friendly and helpful staff. My salesperson, Andrew DeSerio provided me with the absolute best customer service. He was happy to help and answered all my questions. He went out of his way to accommodate and ensure that I was getting the best possible deal. There are no hidden fees!!! If you are interested in buying a car but are unsure where to go and want to make sure you get the best possible car and the easiest car buying experience, go to Smith Haven 112!! And ask for Andrew DeSerio! He deserves a promotion!!
