I highly recommend Capitol Auto as a low-pressure car dealer. Purchased a 1-owner 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT from Capitol Auto at the end of May. My initial contact was with Maria, who set up a test drive with Robbie with about 30 minutes notice. After the first test drive, they were patient and not “pushy” as I set up my finances. After a few days, I asked to take the car for a pre-purchase inspection at my mechanic. Maria was more than willing to accommodate. Picked up the car at 9am and was told not to bring it back until 2pm to allow the most time with it as possible. After returning to the lot, I worked with Tyler on final price and financing. He was more than willing to negotiate the price when I showed him the market data from TrueCar and Cargurus. Even though I was already pre-approved for financing, he was able to beat my bank’s rate. Including final paperwork, I was in their office for 2 hours, most of which was due to the bank taking an hour to process my information. Throughout the entire process of the first test drive to driving away with the car, I felt comfortable and under no pressure, which was a completely different story than the other official Hyundai dealers in Raleigh. A couple of my friends asked where I got the car, and after responding, I encouraged them to look at Capitol Auto’s lot first, because I know they will be treated well.
