What Others Say

Stumbled onto Performance Imports by searching for a replacement Mercedes online. After several other stops at showrooms, we saw an immaculate nine year old E350 at a price where our money was going a lot further. We so liked the car that on picking it up we asked about any possible replacements for our second car. No pressure applied, but we were shown another immaculate vehicle, a twelve year old BMW suitable as our smaller car. That car worked on our imagination for a week, and we bought that one too. The dealership fixed up a couple of BMW senior care issues, did the transaction, and we were happy drivers. After sales, we took the fully disclosed recall issues (air bag and light) to our local BMW dealer who were very complementary about the condition, including having gone underneath and perhaps scouting for work, checked the usual suspects and reported A-OK, and an amazing example of the vintage. Then trouble: the BMW having driven a hundred miles and parked for a half hour would not start. Very much an electrical issue, a slow and then no engine turnover followed by the clicking relay. AAA jumped us and gave the battery a so-so grade, but passable (and also volunteered praise on the quality and condition of the car). Back to the local BMW dealership and indecision between the questionable battery and a minor whining on either the alternator or tensioner. Back to the Performance Imports, a hand over of keys, a detour for coffee and shops, and then the owner called. We are all set, the questionable battery - done, the possible pulley issues - taken off and replaced. No questions... were they a little disappointed to swallow the cost, yes, were we disappointed to have to call AAA, yes. But bravo, they did their job, followed up with our satisfaction in mind. Do we keep AAA? yes we drive old cars. Do we go back to Performance Imports? Absolutely, they sold us great kit and stood behind it.
