I have bought a lot of cars as this was my first time using Carmax. Honestly it’s a different experience and that’s ultimately a good thing. No haggling and no high pressure sales tactics. They offer you some extras if you say no it’s fine. Kenna was our sales associate and she was absolutely fabulous! We also had found the car we wanted online at another site and they shipped it at no cost to our local dealer with no obligation to buy and held it till we could drive it. While it’s nice to be able to get the price down some the price they were selling for, in all reality was market value. First time I have bought a car and it didn’t take all day because of the sales tactics and frankly the drama. I would use them again!

CarMax provides a more pleasant method of car shopping. The sales staff are helpful and not at pushy. My only complaints are that it was not revealed until the last minute that there was only one key fob which necessitated an $800 replacement. Also there was too much waiting around for closing.
Cameron was very helpful and knew the answers to every question. He even went out of his way make sure we got exactly what we wanted.
Best car buying experience ever!! I'll never buy a car from a dealer again. pick out what you want , take as much time as you need, change your mind as much as you want, push a button then BINGO it arrives :) sign a few papers at Carmax and your done You got to pick from all over the US!! Not pushed into what they have on the lot Plus Angie went so far out of her way to help in my buying experience...I Loved Her
Our sales associate was fantastic. Searching for the specific type of vehicle we were looking for on the website was very easy. The shipping process was terrible. We wouldn't have been so anxious if we weren't driving our old car because we were worried the transmission would die before we could trade it in, but it was so frustrating to watch the tracking and have it sit in one place for a long time, and then when we thought it would be arriving soon, it would instead head someplace else. Also, the tracking system was garbage. I called our sales associate at one point because he also thought it would be coming to us soon since it was in Colorado, but a few days later it still hadn't arrived. He did some digging and found out it was heading to Oregon next and then Washington. However, the tracking didn't update to say it was in Oregon until almost a week later. If I'm paying $2000+ for a vehicle to be shipped, the tracking better be extremely up-to-date so I know where my vehicle is! To their credit, they did refund us our shipping fee in the end. My other frustration was filling out the paperwork and other information online ahead of time wasn't extremely intuitive. I got stuck on one step, and when I called customer service to ask for help (I called a couple of different times and had very long wait times, so that also wasn't the best), they didn't know how to answer my question the first time either. So that part of the process could use some improvement as well. Overall, a good experience, but if I buy another car through CarMax again, I will prepare myself to be disappointed by the shipping process and hopefully be pleasantly surprised that it's better than expected.
