What Others Say

This is the first dealership I’ve encountered that openly demonstrated behavior I would characterize as ethically questionable or in my opinion criminal. I purchased a Cadillac XT5 for my wife, and prior to signing any paperwork, I specifically asked whether the vehicle came with two keys. I was informed that it did not, and I made it clear that having two keys was a requirement for the purchase. The dealership agreed to provide a second key, stating that since it was a Saturday afternoon, they would create the key when I returned to pick up the registration and license plates. Three weeks later, I contacted the dealership. They had the registration ready, but when I asked about the second key, the representative I spoke with was unsure and transferred me to the original salesperson. What I heard next was deeply troubling: I was advised to file a claim under the Cadillac Key Insurance Policy, falsely reporting the key as lost. Furthermore, I was told to wait three months before doing so to avoid raising suspicion. In fact, a Cadillac dealership was instructing a customer to commit insurance fraud. This appears to be a disturbing pattern: sell the insurance policy, withhold the second key, then encourage the customer to file a fraudulent claim—ultimately profiting from both the policy sale and the insurance reimbursement for a key they already possess. I think it may be a pattern given the detail of the instruction I received including a three-month delay with filing the claim to avoid suspicion. I was genuinely shocked that a dealership affiliated with Cadillac and General Motors would condone such practices. If this behavior is systemic, it raises serious concerns about oversight and accountability within the organization. As the saying goes, “A fish rots from the head.” If this conduct is normalized at the dealership level, one must question how far up the approval goes. I seriously doubt that GM/Cadillac would allow such behavior. I'm sure within the dealership agreements exists very specific contractual language to protect the Cadillac brand name. I don't think instructing customers to commit Criminal Insurance Fraud is one of the behaviors Cadillac would allow. I share this experience as a caution to others.

Michael, Benjamin, and Alvaro were great to work with, and they provided great customer service. Buying a car from Open Door Cadillac was a pleasure.

There is a type person who doesn’t accept their mistakes and directly kick the customer from shop

Irresponsible and incompetent. Manager Chris and their team subotage vehicle removing your splash guards beware

Be very careful when having work done on your vehicle at this location. They told me my 2016 Escalade would need new lifters at a cost of $5,105.80 due to the ticking noise. I took it for a second opinion and found out it was a bad spark plug wire. When I called them to discuss the findings, they told me that the lifters would go bad eventually anyways and should go through with the work. How wrong is that. I'm sure they wouldn't have ever shared with me anything about the bad spark plug wire. By the end of the discussion the service manager told me not to bring my truck back to them ever again even though it was purchased there.

Disappointing Experience with Delayed Registration and Number Plates I purchased a vehicle from Open Road Cadillac Morristown on May 18, 2024, and unfortunately, my experience with their registration and documentation process has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. It has been over two months since my purchase, and I am still waiting for my number plates to be issued. Despite numerous reminders and follow-ups with the agency, the issuance of the number plates has been delayed indefinitely, leaving me unable to fully enjoy and operate my vehicle legally. Furthermore, the temporary registration renewal process at is plagued with inefficiencies and delays. Each time I have had to renew the temporary registration, I have to remind them well in advance. Despite reminding them a week before the expiry date, the renewal is not processed in a timely manner. The lack of communication and responsiveness from the customer service team is appalling. Most of my calls go unanswered, and I am left in the dark about the status of my registration, causing unnecessary stress and inconvenience.Overall, my experience with Open Road Cadillac has been marred by delays, poor communication, and a lack of urgency in addressing customer concerns. I urge potential customers to be cautious when dealing with this agency, as their after-sales service leaves much to be desired.I hope that takes immediate action to rectify these issues and improve their processes to provide better service to their customers in the future. Al Amado was the cherry on the cake !!
