BMW of Austin adds 1% to your interest rate! Initial price negotiations with Trent J. were smooth and initially gave me confidence in the transaction. He was reasonable to work with and we agreed on purchase price. I have excellent credit and was aware of a manufacturer promotional rate of 1.99%. However, I was presented with a 2.99% rate and given explanations (i.e.) lies like: - BMW Austin does not pay to participate in that promotion - This is the best rate we can offer for your credit A finance manager (Mr. Xavier) did also try some lame tactics. Only after I specifically requested a compensation disclosure did he acknowledge: Buy rate = 1.99% BMW Austin contract = 2.99% They pocket the 1% as profit. For a $50,000 loan the markup would be around $1,400. BMW actually allows dealerships to keep 1% dealer reserve but many 'good' dealerships do not use this practice due to lack of transparency. I also wrote directly to the dealership’s general manager and sales manager using the contact information they publicly provide for customer concerns - no response from either. Hoping this awareness will prepare current and future customers to ask the following direct questions: (1) Do you have a dealer reserve/hold? (2) What is the buy rate for the loan? Good luck y'all!
Jason Rucker From the first minute of our conversation, you were dismissive and completely unprofessional. You did not act like someone who wants to sell a car. You acted like someone looking for excuses to kill the deal. You failed at the basics of your job. Instead of asking when I could come in, you focused on how I would bring my trade — a pointless question that immediately showed you don’t know how to control or advance a sales conversation. Right at the beginning, you said, “You’re not here, the car can sell anytime.” That is not honesty — that’s arrogance and laziness. Your job is to get customers into the dealership, not scare them off before they arrive. After we agreed on price, I offered a deposit while completing financing. You said deposits are not accepted — yet the car was later sold. That’s either incompetence or dishonesty. Either way, it’s unacceptable. On top of that, you tried to devalue my trade with opinions instead of market facts, and you clearly don’t even understand the difference between a Tesla Model S and a Model X. That level of ignorance in this industry is embarrassing. The entire interaction was negative and hostile. You asked questions like someone waiting for a deal to fall apart instead of someone trying to close it. Suggesting I sell my car elsewhere first and then come back to buy from you is absurd and shows zero sales instinct. This was one of the worst interactions I’ve ever had with a salesperson. You lost this deal entirely on your own. I will be buying elsewhere. Management should seriously review how you handle customers, because this behavior costs your dealership real money. Roozbeh
Had an excellent experience at the BMW of Austin. Mike was very helpful and kind from day one to finish. We did not have to wait a long time to get our BMW from the factory and the ordering process was very easy. This is our first BMW so Mike made sure that he answered all our questions before we leave the dealership. Joshua the financial consultant and Ethan was very helpful as well. The place is well equipped with all the amenities. We had a great experience purchasing our 2026 X3 from this dealership. I highly recommend getting your next BMW from them.
Good service, easy to do business with. Have purchased a few cars with great experience each time. Mike Hanaway had been great to work with.
BMW of Austin is a great Dealership in purchasing my 2026 BMW 330XI. Mike Hanaway and team is great to work with. Highly recommend..
I couldn't be happier with my '26 X5. BMW of Austin had the exact model and trim I was in the market for. My sales manager Mike Hanaway made the purchase and pickup the easiest experience I have ever had with a dealership. My wife will be in the market for a new car in a few months and Mike and BMW of Austin will be the first dealership we check out. Thank you, Mike and Team!
