What Others Say

Towne Hyundai in Denville NJ is a terrible dealership for service. Service advisor staff are generally clueless and incompetent. They will constantly lie to you and avoid warranty repairs at all costs. Mechanics/service techs have no idea what they are doing. They are obviously untrained and uncertified. They screw up anything they touch. My vehicle has been into their shop twice for a complete brake job. The brakes are still dragging at all 4 wheels. The alignment is way out and cannot be adjusted in the rear so something is damaged or worn. Cannot drive any Hyundain Elantra in the wind. Very dangerous vehicle and cannot be used on windy days. Vehicle has no rear sway bar, along with missing other vital components. Hyundai builds dangerous vehicles, built with very cheap parts that constantly fail. Dealership staff on a whole is a big fat zero. All they care about is scamming you out of money.

Very nice dealership! I had bought a car from them once before a number of years ago and was very satisfied with the whole process. If anything, it’s gotten even better, which is saying a bit considering that it was already a five star in my opinion. Joe I., the salesman, was very friendly and pleasant. Forget that knot in your stomach, here we go feeling. Not at all! You will not feel high pressure at all and we’ll walk out with a very fair price and enjoyable experience.. Joe’s assistant Karli was outstanding. This young lady had so much knowledge about the car buying process, knowledge of the vehicles and was happy to help you get yourself set up, including blue link with your cell phone she even had picked me up from the rental car company that evening to get me over to the dealership. While it is a decent size dealership on a major highway, it has more of a homie Mom and pop type, feel as opposed to being assaulted by a barrage of salesman😆😆 I highly recommend Towne Hyundai

Sold my car i had purchased from them. Provided the proof but they still haven't issued the refund for extended warranty. They were informed back in November 2025. They say they can take upto 90 days. So they are trying to pad their bank account with interest from my money they are holding. Run don't walk away from this dealership.

Town Hyundai Service Department – Absolutely Awful Experience Do not take your car to Town Hyundai’s service department. From start to finish, our experience was appalling. Andrew and Emily were consistently disrespectful, unprofessional, and uninformed. My car was part of the Hyundai white paint recall. We received a letter confirming the paint warranty was extended through December 31, 2025. When I called ahead, Emily assured me no appointment was needed, the process would take 10 minutes, and they were open until 5:00 PM. We arrived at 4:30 PM, only to be told by Emily that they wouldn’t take the pictures or file the claim, claiming the warranty had expired. Even after showing her the official letter, she continued to argue. Andrew then stepped in and was even more rude and aggressive. He berated me to the point I had to call someone for support. When that person tried to explain the situation to Andrew over the phone, he yelled at her and handed the phone back to me saying, “You need to get her under control.” This is apparently Town Hyundai’s idea of customer service. Eventually, they did take the pictures. Weeks later, they called to schedule the repaint. Andrew falsely claimed we couldn’t get a loaner unless we paid out of pocket, which Hyundai corporate later confirmed was incorrect. Fortunately, we didn’t need one. When we picked up the car, it was shocking. The paint job left paint on the sunroof and back window, the trunk was full of garbage, the tire light was on, and the car now makes a horrible squeaking sound. We had explicitly told them not to replace the filters, yet they did—and charged us for both the parts and labor, despite Andrew saying labor would be waived. When I confronted Andrew, his response was: “You got a $5000 paint job for nothing and we did your car when no one else would, so you should be happy.” No, Andrew—Hyundai issued a recall because their paint was defective. They were correcting their mistake, not doing me a favor. I’ve since contacted Hyundai corporate and have been assigned a case manager. I will not let this go until my car is properly fixed. Avoid Town Hyundai’s service department at all costs. If you must go and encounter Andrew, ask for someone else immediately.

I want to update my previous review because my experience with Towne Hyundai has completely turned around thanks to Jay Hakim. After a rough start in the past, Jay truly went above and beyond this time to make sure I left as a satisfied customer. He worked with me every step of the way to get the best deal possible, listened to my concerns, and made sure I felt heard and valued. The process was smooth, respectful, and professional from start to finish. I really appreciate the time and effort he put into making things right, and I can honestly say I’m thankful for his help. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about getting you the right deal and making sure you have a positive experience, ask for Jay Hakim. He completely changed my perspective, and I’m glad I gave Towne Hyundai another chance.

Sales is great as you would expect. Based on multiple experiences, service is a nightmare to get an appointment when you actually need it. The business process within their service department is broken. I had loyalty towards them but not anymore after 3 attempts at different points in time to get an appointment, when I needed it most. I'd rather go to a more consistent and reliable local garage. The service department itself is good once you are the lucky recipient of the coveted appointment.
