What Others Say

Purchased a car at carpenter. After getting it home realized it started hard and the next day had a traction light on. Contacted dealer and told them I was going to have it checked. Took it in and found out it needed 1800 dollars in repairs. Contacted dealer again and asked if they would do anything about it. They said to take it where they take their cars for repair. The guys at this shop where rude and full of crap, said that it only needed 1000 dollars worth of work and they could not fix it there. Talked to the salesman again and told him you should not have to buy a used car that supposedly had all these checks done on it and have to put this kind of money in it to be right the next day. He said this kind of stuff happens all the time it happened to him once and that he offered to sell me a warranty that I didn't buy one and that I was on my own pretty much. I asked to talk it over with the manager. The salesman said he was not there. I told him to have the manager call me when he got back. He said he would. Its been five days and still no call. This is the kind of first class customer service and deal you will get at carpenter motors.

After coming to an agreement on a price for our new car and a "range" of $2700-$3000 for our trade in value subject to the owner approval we signed an agreement, the dealer sent the paperwork to our loan officer who then in turn cut us a check to Carpenter Motors. Well when we got to the dealership to finalize the deal they said that the engine needed to be replaced and the only way we had a deal was to write another check for $1100. We spent about 2 HOURS in their lobby while they ran our "trade-in" around the parking lot. After leaving without paying them the extra money or getting the car we already CAME TO AN AGREEMENT ON we notice that both of our shirts were stained pink from their couches. I will never do business with Carpenter Motors again. Oh wait, we didn't actually do business, they just wasted our time.
