Purchased a used 2020 BMW x5 with 49,000 miles from crystal lake BMW. Car had a prefect carfax and all maintenance done at dealerships except tires. 2,000 miles later I needed a new rear differential ($7,000). I tried to work with the dealership to make repairs at their site but the manager couldn’t even take my call (he was in a meeting). They serviced the rear differential pinion and seal as part of prep for sale. This was my family’s 5th purchase from this dealership. I will not be returning and highly recommend avoiding the service there.

My BMW app stopped working, got a white screen, my X5 said 6% new software downloaded and frozen. I called BMW USA help line for the app and online. Was told to uninstall and reinstall the My BMW app, which I had already done. Thats all the help without escalating it to the IT people. So, I called the BMW Genisus at BMW of Crystal Lake, Devon had not heard of this problem. He suggested I should drive the X5 as to finish download it needs to be driven. Drove 30 minutes, still frozen at 6%. xxxx. I went to BMW of Crystal Lake, Devon was waiting. Service writer said they can force the software update, too late today, offered me a nice loaner. Then Devon got on my Android phone and changed default web browser from Edge to Google and then got the app working (I had spent 3 hours on that). Well, the software started downloading to the phone and was done in 10 minutes. So, we took the X5 out and in 1/2 a mile the vehicle had gone from 5% to 44%. So, I headed home, 100% download done in another 10-15 minutes. I got home, as soon as I parked the X5 screen offered to install the large update and was di=one in 20 minutes. NICE. A huge thank you to Devon at the dealer and the service shop for being able to get me in and offer a loaner with no notice. BMW of Crystal Lake is great with customer service and always ready to assist. Makes owning a BMW so easy. THANK YOU!

One of the best dealership experiences I've had was with BMW of Crystal Lake. There are 5+ BMW dealerships in my area, but I chose to purchase my X5M from BMW of Crystal Lake (about 800 miles away from me). I called out of the blue to inquire about one in stock, and the salesman, James Orton, was very responsive and shared a few details. I then worked with James & their sales manager, Heather Lublink, over the next week regarding pricing, general questions, financing, etc. Heather & James were extremely accommodating, responsive, and transparent. We reached a deal rather painlessly & I flew in to pick up the car about 2 weeks after the first call. The finance manager, Mike, was also wonderful to work with. He was straight forward, honest, and knowledgeable. Their BMW genius, Devon, was extremely professional and helpful during my airport pickup. Everyone at BMW of Crystal Lake was professional, accommodating, respectful, considerate, and just overall good people. Every negotiation felt like a normal conversation & I could tell they actually cared about my business and satisfaction. Most dealerships treated me like a nobody. Not this one! I really enjoyed working with them & getting to know everyone throughout the process. They all seemed just as excited as I was to take delivery! Big thanks to James, Heather, Mike, Devon, and everyone else involved in my X5M purchase/delivery & making it such a special day! Everyone truly went above & beyond - and it showed. Multiple issues with this dealership. I did request to speak with the owner of the dealership and was told he never comes in; does not have voice mail or email and they can only leave a note on his desk.
