Being that this is a luxury car I expected to be treated like "royalty"...not quite so but better than say at a Chevy one. It felt just the same. The initial friendliness is ok but when things get really testy their customer service skill goes away. Instead of trying to defuse a situation I got a response that pretty much said "go away." I was so angry that I wanted to punch a wall. Every time I go there they try and find things that need to be fixed (commission based sales). They're good for routine items like oil change which a) don't take too much time and b) don't run into trouble. Other kinds of service require lots of time (and money) since their core competency is not doing major repairs. I felt cheap and slimed all over after my visit today. Their treatment of me started with Paul and he did not take ownership of making me, the customer, feel valued. Sure he tried to pass off the complimentary car wash as a "favor" but I dismissed that small gesture to justify the gouging and poor treatment.
Worst service ever!! I left my 93 SAAB for service and to fix a problem on the steering column as indicated by the car dashboard. I picked up my car with the steering wheel completely uncentered while it was centered when I dropped the car. They told me that since the car was drivable, it was fine as it was. Could not believe it! I had to send the card to another repair shop (not a Saab dealer) to fix the problem and have the steering wheel centered and I had to pay for it. Not to mention the fact that it was the second time I was leaving my car for the same issue since the first time their machine necessary to fix the steering wheel was not working... They told me at the end of the day that my car (which had been sitting in their shop all day) would not be repaired and that I would have to come back at another time. Bottom line: Don't get your saab serviced or repaired at SAAB of Greenwich.
Caught them lying about repairs that were not necessary. Told me my exhaust was bent and would not be covered under warranty. Said it would be $1500 to fix. When I said no, they got pushy, and threatened that other things would not be covered under warranty. Turns out the entire problem (clunking noise) was a loose nut holding down the spare tire. Sent letters to owner and service manager, have never replied.
