What Others Say

About two years ago, I got quite a abysmal experience with Darcars Volvo Rockville's sale department. So, when I had to get some service done on my car, I was very hesitant in going in to Darcars Volvo service center. But I am glad to say that what the sales department lacks, the service department makes up for. In the last 20 months, I have been to the Darcar Volvo's service department 4 times. 3 times, I dealt with Jimmy Wong, and once I worked with Christian Davis. Both of these gentlemen were superb to work with. My last visit was a couple of weeks ago when I went in for my 2 years/20k miles service. While Christian was signing me in, he asked me if there is any issue(s) that I want them to look at as well. I told Christian about this one issue that I noticed in my car in the last few months where the steering would vibrate a little on highway speeds. I was expecting him to say "oh that is new and we never heard of it" but instead, he told me that he will certainly look in to it and will try his best to resolve it. I was ready to give him a full shabang of all of the posts and forums I read about this issue and that it is a known issue for my particular vehicle, because I thought they would not look in to it. But, to my surprise, Christian was aware of the issue and was more than willing to help me with it. All in all, I am quite happy to work with the Darcars Volvo's service department. It feels like they genuinely care about their customers, and every time I visited them, I did not feel like they were trying to rush things over. Both Jimmy and Christian, and also the South-Asian gentleman in the vehicle drop off bay (sorry I did not catch his name) are super courteous and a pleasure to talk to. Hope to see you soon for my next service.

Purchased my 1st Volvo ever at DARCARS Volvo of Rockville on 2/25/2025, a 2025 S-60 PHEV. I have been purchasing cars for about 50 years now and have dealt with numerous different car dealers, including most recently Lexus and BMW. I would have to say that my buying experience at Volvo of Rockville was one of the best ever. Daniel, the sales manager, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in walking me thru the pros, cons and costs associated with purchasing vs leasing of the 2025 S-60 I was interested in. And when the one I was considering got sold before I was ready to buy, Daniel went out of his way to locate and obtain an identical vehicle from another Volvo dealer. My salesman, Manny Rodriguez, was simply the best car salesman I have ever worked with. Manny was pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable and straight shooting, just a pleasure to deal with. I couldn't have asked for anything more. My advice would be that no matter what you currently think of Volvo, you should take a look at the current Volvo line of cars; they are much more impressive than I honestly thought they would be. And when you do, go to Volvo of Rockville and ask for Manny.

I recently purchased my first Volvo from Darcars on Rockville Pike. My experience at the dealership, and particularly with Manny, was incredible. Manny was patient, knowledgable, kind and never rushed me. He answered all of my questions - whether I was in the dealership or via text. I asked a lot of questions and he knew all of the answers. Even after I purchased the car, he is still very willing to help me with any questions and even offered to have me stop by the dealership to go through a few details in person. Manny truly goes above and beyond! He has a great personality and is a very genuine and kind person. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Manny!

I had years of disappointment from other car dealerships, and that ended when I went to DARCARS Volvo. The level of service and care is incredible, and I can't say enough positive things about everyone there. Manny sold us the car and "sold us on" the dealership. He's so genuine, honest, and cares about people. You can tell that for him, although this is his job, it's not about making money. He truly wants people to be happy and get what they like. Since becoming a part of this family (and it is a family), I've been happy every single time I come in.

I worked with Manny and Daniel. Both were easy, professional, and great to work with. Any extremely easy and straightforward car buying experience. Highly recommend to work with both of these guys!

Absolutely terrible experience with Darcars Volvo. Almost turned me away from the Volvo brand, but I came around only because Darcars local competitors saved the day for Volvo. Reached out to Darcars via email asking for a lease on C40 Recharge. One of their sales rep, Paula Mejia, responded to my query by the usual "we have the vehicle available if you want to come by and test drive it" response. I reached back to her within an hour informing her that I am currently test driving different vehicles and can come by over the weekend to test drive the Volvo. Today is the tenth day of my response, and I am still waiting for Paula's response. Anyway, since I was free over the weekend, I drove over to Darcars to test drive the vehicle. There was an Plug-in Hybrid version of XC40 inside the showroom, so I started looking at it. Sat inside, walked around it. There was another sales person, Yulia Denika, walking around, not even making an eye contact. There were some other sales/financing people at the dealership, but they were all in their glass rooms. No one was paying attention to me. After Yulia passed by me third time, I made an eye contact with her and she goes "Need help?!", "nope, just came to see you walk pass me a dozen times" I said to myself. Anyway, I told her what I am looking for, she pointed to a vehicle outside and said "its out there". What kind of dealership is this?! I ignored the snobby attitude, and was like "can I test drive it?". Got in to the car, she was extremely robotic and monotonic, like she was either forced to work there, or were forced to be my sales person. Once the test drive was over, I told her that I will get in touch with her to go over the numbers. The next day, I sent her an email asking what the lease number are, she goes "I've discussed with my manager and he's presented the best offer we can provide for the C40 Ultimate. The monthly payments are $xxx.xx". No break down, no details, just a number and "We require $1000 deposit to require the vehicle" Basically, "we dont care about you, all we care about is money." I had to ask Yulia for break-down of the cost, and then she comes around and email them to me. Numbers were still quite high though. So, I told her that I will think about it, and started looking at other dealerships in the area. There was one more dealership in Bethesda (I will be leaving them a review in a bit. They definitely earned it), so I reached out to them. Right off the bat, they were super responsive and were crystal clear with their numbers. Their manager sent me the numbers, with detailed breakdowns, without even me asking them. I emailed Yulia back and told her that I am not interested anymore, since I got a much better price from their competitors, she responds with "As the leading dealership in the region, we're well-positioned to offer competitive pricing. If you could share the quote you've received, I'd be happy to discuss it with my manager and see what we can do for you." I sent her the quote I got from the competitors and told her that I will lease from Darcars if they can beat the competitor's offer, its been 5 days today, and I have yet to hear back from her. Not even "Sorry we cant match them" or any such formality either. So, to sum it up, Darcars Volvo's customer service is sub par, at best. They lack courtesy but there seems to be no shortage of attitude. May be their management need to have a little chat with their sales people, because Lexus dealership is right next door to them, and Telsa and BMW are not too far either. If they continue the same trend, Darcars Volvo's dealership will start seeing less and less customers. --- This same review is posted on multiple forums and review sites ---
