I found the selected car online and called for appointment, which was made through the answering sales rep. Upon my visit, the rep spent time to discuss the car and its potential purchase. He was very pleasant, but his accent and conversational ability was somewhat difficult, and I am a patient person accustomed to foreign accents and English understanding. His manager joined us, which helped to answer questions, negotiate, and move things to a trade-in contract. There was no test drive or step-wise inspection or walkthrough of the car. I returned a few days later to complete the sale and complete my trade-in. I preceded my arrival by emailing a complete history of my trade-in along with delivery questions and requests. When I arrived, it seemed there was no car readiness or review of my correspondence. My questions and info/guidance was handled real-time with sales rep and manager. Sales rep, OnStar rep, and I had much difficulty with walkthrough of online OnStar setup. OnStar services, owner registration and requirements, and car startup turnover process were not described earlier and was further compromised by inconsistent conversational clarity. Sales rep received manager assistance with OnStar setup and answering remaining car operational questions, and conducting test drive. My overall assessment of the sale experience is it was awkward throughout. Sales rep and manager were friendly, professional gentlemen with general knowledge of the car model being sold; however, both lacked familiarity with specific operational functional capabilities and setup of fundamental car model aspects. I found myself answering my own questions real-time through joint discovery with the sales team. I am patient, but expect more familiarity and attention to readiness detail than I experienced. Other than online, no hardcopy quick-start or more detailed owner manual, OnStar, or dealer/services documentation was provided, although finance department tried hard to sell a wide range of post purchase services and packages. Sales manager offered to order full owner manual. License plate transfers were not completed during turnover and only one key fob was provided; no followup yet from agency and I will be out of country till end of September. With my prior Corvette purchase, seller agency provided a number of new-owner offers, including at-home garage door opener setup of car transmitter, logo ball cap, embroidered golf-type shirt, and GM-subsidized Spring Mtn multi-day behind-the-wheel Ron Fellows performance driving school with condo. Other than water, none of these were offered/provided nor anything to eat or drink during two visits. This questionnaire lacks "Not Applicable" as a choice for responses; home delivery was not described or offered.
