What Others Say

We bought a 2024 Toyota Highlander, cash deal, on May 25, 2024, from Justin Blatz at Bosak Toyota. He was a helpful, knowledgeable salesman, so he gets five stars. As for the customer service, would give zero stars if possible. We went to the BMV three times for plates and each time was told the paperwork was not available from the dealership. We tried calling to find out what was happening, and each time the operator transferred me to someone, they didn't answer. I go voice mail. I left a message with the title person, no call back. Our paper plate expired July 9, BMV said to talk with the dealership. Tried calling again, four times at least, and only got the operator who was a bit rude. Every person she transferred my call to, did not answer, just voicemail. Then, the operator took my name and phone number and said the manager, Brice, would call me right back. Waited over an hour and no callback. Called again and finally Gina told us they had a letter they would be mailing that would help, maybe, if we got pulled over for the expired license. It was already July 9, the expiration date for the paper plate. So we had to drive to the dealership in Chesterton from Michigan City, to pick up the letter. Asked why we weren't told about their security breach, was told they didn't know who was affected?1 We are so sorry we didn't wait for Toyota of Merrillville to get a vehicle we wanted. We dealt with them for 17 years with our previous Toyota, and their customer service is excellent. We thought buying closer to Michigan City would be easier for service visits. Nope, we would rather drive to Merrillville to that dealership for the great customer service. Bosak is a huge disappointment. We may be going back to Merrillville for our oil changes, etc. When you answer the phone "better at Bosak", it's a joke, right?

I traded a used Honda for a new Toyota RAV4 in 2018, and was fairly treated on the trade and the purchase. The dealer was called Lake Shore Toyota, which Bozak later bought. In 2021, I stopped at Bozak Toyota to test-drive a Toyota Prius. I was driving a 2020 Mazda 6 Carbon Edition for which I had paid $34, 000 only 6 months earlier (it had only about 3000 miles on it on that day). I test-drove a new Toyota Prius. I was quoted a $25,500 trade in price for the Mazda, $1500 below what I was offered at a Mazda dealership and also by a used car dealer. On the other hand, Bozak Toyota tacked an extra $3000 onto the MSRP for the Prius, for "fabric protection." So, had I done the deal, I would have lost $4500 right off the top, just for dealing with Bozak rather than going elsewhere. I just said goodbye. Within days, I sold the Mazda to a used car dealer for $27,000, and bought a Toyota 4Runner from a Toyota dealer in Northbrook, Illinois, for $4000 below the Kelly Blue Book price. BOTTOM LINE: I am getting ready to buy a new Prius. I would never again even think of going to Bozak to buy or sell a car.

Had a wonderful buying experience purchasing a Toyota Certified Used Vehicle at Bosak Toyota! Thank you for the great experience!

My dad and I drove down from the Kalamazoo area (Michigan) to check out a used Tacoma. The drive was a little over 1.5 hours there, and I spent around 30-40 min extensively examining bushings and frame rust etc. All OEM suspension parts, no leaks. It looked great, and drove well. 4hi, 4lo both engaged immediately. No weird noises. Very promising. My dad was looking to trade in his SUV. When they talked numbers Mike was unwilling to negotiate on both the Tacoma price and the trade in price, he misquoted the Tacoma price as being $1000+ more than it was posted to be online, and he tacked on around 3000 dollars of extra fees. This might be common practice in sales, I’m not sure. I know about fixing cars, not buying them. At one point Mike mentioned that the dealership’s mechanic might be interested in the truck. My dad was unwilling to sell at the stated trade in value, and we left for under 5 minutes before returning to buy the truck without doing a trade in. In the short time that we were gone Mike sold the truck to the shop mechanic, and my dad was unable to even accept Mike’s firm and steep offer; something he was prepared to do given the quality of the truck and the length of the drive out and back. Earlier in the day my dad had called in to make sure that the truck was still available. I have a suspicion that the mechanic caught wind that we were looking at the truck later, and asked Mike not to budge on the truck in order to buy it himself. The idea of Mike allowing my Dad to drive over 3 hours round trip knowing full well that he was going to stonewall him and ultimately sell to the mechanic disgusts me, and is shady business practice. I cannot say that this is what happened, but what I can say is that my dad called ahead to ask about the truck, he was given a low offer for the trade in, a high price for the truck, Mike was unwilling to negotiate, and then within 5 minutes of leaving and returning Mike had sold the truck to the shop mechanic.

Went in today to get recall notice taken care of. To my sad surprise, the service department receptionist was rude, sassy, confrontational, and not someone I'd have talking to my customers who've purchased a new Rav4 Hybrid. It's hard to belive Bosak would be so ignorant about how disrespectful their service department girl is.

Oh My God!! There are many dealers who can get a good review when everything is going great with a sale. But when everything goes wrong and the car they bought can't pull the new trailer they purchased.!....things can get really ugly. At first I received a cold reception when I told my story. I was not happy with getting a used car that had 3 times the interest charged from my 1.9%. After awhile the big boss came out and wanted to know what he could do for me to make me happy! Long story short. I got a beautiful used Toytota that can pull my trailer with no problem. I also received an interest rate that was only 1% higher than what I had. Best of all and what I really wanted was getting a car comparable to what I had and a car payment that was about the same!! John and Mark thankyou so much for working with my wife and myself. You turned a nightmare into a beautiful day for the both of us!! Maverick, the intern You are learning from the best!! This type of business is what makes Bosak Toyota stand ahead of all its competitors!!!
